Signature restrictions are in effect!!
Just to let everyone know signature restrictions are now in effect. This decision was not intended to piss people off it's merely a way to try and control bandwidth and load time.
The restrictions are as listed below:
Max characters: 1000
Max lines in sig: 5
Max font size: 3
Max number of images: 2
Max image file size 512kb
Max image size 400x200
The restrictions only get checked when you are in the signature window of User CP. I suggest offenders go there and make the necessary adjustments. If you still try and float by with signatures that do not meet the criteria you will be given an infraction.
More on infractions here......

I think we need an official "is my sig too big" thread first instead of all the infractions being handed out.

infractions aren't being handed out yet, just warnings. It's much easier to do it this way because i did some and jadkar did some (and i'm sure other mods will too) and you can see who has been warned. I'd rather see it done this way because then a user won't get 4 different PM's from different mods telling him his sig is too big.
Don't get offended by the warnings, i know it sounds a little harsh when you open your inbox and see "Warning, blah blah blah" and we're all kinda starting to get used to all the features of it. There is also some behind the scenes tracking you guys don't see that goes on with the warnings. With a warning though there is no points handed out so nothing to worry about.
In other words, no one is in trouble yet. Just trying to get everyone up to speed on the new sig rules and trying to get as many people as possible having sigs the right size so we don't hear about "well well, ____ has a huge sig! Why can't i?"

also, i've seen a couple people getting moody about these restrictions. These restrictions are meant to make sure the site is easy to navigate and the focus is where it should be, information. I know i personally was sick of scrolling through posts that took up a full page and actually turned sigs off a while back. Huge sigs full of BS are completely unnecessary IMO and i've been saying it for a while. I know i'm no the only one that has been saying it either.

done!! I gave you a test infraction and then a test warning. You can see on the post itself you have a yellow card. Then the next post you have a red card.

sweet, i think i got the first real infraction haha.
Okay, now that i've seen what it looks like in user cp. The yellow card next to the infraction signifies a warning and it will say it has 0 points. These expire and are just a warning. When you get a red card and points start piling up, that's when you have to worry. See the thread regarding the infraction system for more info on that.

People getting moody need to like go find a job or something. It's not life threatening.
And yeah when I looked again i have no points.

yeah.....everyone, the warnings are no big deal it's just an official way of let someone know. It's more of a friendly "hey waz up" then anything else. Infractions will be given for other more serious things like insulting other members or starting fights. Signature infractions may come but that's way down the line.
Plus......Everyone is removing their sigs. You guys know you don't have to, look at mine I just resized the photo and took out all the mods. Now I just point back to the vBGarage.

Your signature image(s) are too large. The maximum dimensions are 400w x 200h in pixels and the maximum filesize is 512.0 KB.

Wow...that's some strange stuff. I'm trying to work on it and it seems that all your photos are the correct size but it still won't fly. What even more strange is it's not the car photo that it doesn't like, it's the little smiley. If I take it out it works.
anyway...still working on it.
