so i bought some LEDs to replace the bulbs in the gauges...

so i went from

to this

and then i was told to spin them around cause they are polarity specific and got this

then i decided to do it again, since it was dark out i could see what i fucked up before i put it back together. its amazing how fast i can rip aprt the dash to get to the gauges now.

i also had a problem with the starter, i stalled it and then when i tried to start it it didnt do shit, so i pushed starterd it home.

tested the starter and it was fine, tested the starter directly to the battery and it was fine. connected to where it should be and the actuator shot, but didnt spin. i scratched my head for 2 weeks trying to figure it out. turns out it was a bad connection on the battery. a new set of terminals fised it.

oh and here is the wiring nightmare....

that thing circled in red is a LIVE wire that was just laying around randomly in that mess. that was a bad thing, so i taped it off. (edit: that ground/bolt that it is sitting right next to is now black and has scorch marks on it. thats how i found out it was a live wire.)

also, the $5 starter problem fix.

and untill i find a core support that isnt bent and crumpled and is "local", my rigged radiator support...

and im also changing the blue interior to black.

its on the streets.

no problems really, except theres a random problem if i shut it down and say go into a store for a soda, ill start it up put it in gear and i throw a code and lose engine power, feels kinda like its just dumping fuel into the motor. but if i stop and shut it down, and turn it back on its fine. it might do it again, it might not. i think its just a fuel map fuckup or something. cause it goes away if i shut it down, and it only comes if i shut it down and start it back up in a short time.

also, i ran the shit out of it but couldnt get the rears to brake loose in turns (no drift ) the front understeers like a sonofabitch.

then i got tired of the t-tops hitting me in the back so i pulled into a gas station to tie them down with the t-top ties. i left the engine idleing, took less than 2 minutes for it to boil over. i left about a gallon of coolant on the ground. but after i let it sit for 20minutes, i drove away fine and not over heating. i need to figure out why it does that at idle, so i dont get fucked if im in traffic.

it runs great, second gear seems slow. but whatever. the suspension is old and wore the fuck out, and hard acceleration to high speeds (highway speeds) feels scetchy because of it. and on the highway it feels kinda scetchy but cruising aint to bad, but when you drop it into fourth to accelarate it doesnt feel safe.

total suspension rebuild cost = ~$1300 (if i use springs/struts, not coilovers)

to be honest, im gitty as a school girl about tearing the suspension down for a rebuild. its something ive always wanted to do.

I've always liked this swap. Those cars aged pretty gracefully and I think a v6 is a good match for them. Almost like a mini-NSX (jadkar is going to kill me for that one)
