Time is coming
I've about had it with having a completely stock car. btw if you don't know I drive a '00 Toyota Echo. basically the same thing as the xA and xB. Both sport the DOHC 1nzfe VVTi gocart motor
luckily for me most engine parts that are made for the Scion xA, xB, Toyota Vitz are compatible.
my girlfriend owns a 1996 VW GTi that is lowered, exhaust system, and subs. makes me miss being in the tuning scene a bit. luckily she lets me drive it.
BUT
that's aside from the point. I'm really thinking about either putting on a exhaust system, or K&N Typhoon Intake , or Lower it on just springs for now.
what do you guys think?

yeah, unfortunatly on my budget I can only really afford to get some good springs, I dont want anything too aggressive, just something that will add a little stability on the mountain roads here. Tein makes springs for the echo/xa/xb and they are about $162ish.

whats the point of having a fast car, when I can have an underdog
today I did alittle DIY mod for the Echo. it involved removing a restrictive portion of the intake tube that extended from the box. Inside the intake box there is also a "waffle" inside the tube that leads to the throttle body. I removed that too and now the echo sounds uber mean in the upper rpms.
A echo tuner guy on echodrivers.com did a test on the airbox peices seeing what affect the removal of certain objects would do. According to the tests and calculations he ran the simple removal of these restrictive devices helps bump the horses as much as 5hp at the flywheel.
pretty cool huh, I'll post something in the this forum soon about it.

that sounds like the "removing the ol' resonator from an integra intake" DIY mod. good stuff. cheap DIY mods that add power are the best.
