I willl strongly suggest having a project/build section.
I know some of you have it on your mind already, and you're preoccupied with other stuff, while getting this running etc, however I just want to put this into the spot light again.
It turned just like any other forum for me, i just visit the CRX, then the offtopic, and that is it basically, I stay away from basically all the other sections because there is no interest in them for me.
Now however if there was a Project/build section, where everybody was allowed to have one thread per car, no matter what brand the car is, it would be interesting to truly see all the projects that members are having on this site, all conviniently in one place.
Plus personally i do not recall seeing it on any other forum or message board, so this would make us stand out of the crowd.
And it would be a great place to give help, and suggestions to people new to the scene who are just starting their build, and give them the right direction at it as well (not neceseraly follow the crowd)
That is all for now

Well....the DIY forum is really kinda like that but not quite. Once the new site design is ready we'll visit how to approach this. The problem is DIY & projects are so close, yet so different.
Example......
Blake ITBs; some people would say it's a DIY. How to create your own Individual throttle body setup. While others say, well it's taking a while to complete so it's a project. I agree on the later, I believe it should be a "project" type of article. Then when he's complete he could make another thread as the DIY.
Other things, are clearly DIYs and not projects. Like the LED dash lights. My point is you can see the confusion. It's gonna have to be heavily moderated so people don't end up posting things in the wrong forum.
I really don't want people posting.... "I changed my oil in my car today" and putting it in the project forum. There will have to be set criteria as to if your work falls into the "project" forum or the "DIY" forum.
In any case...... this is a topic on our minds.

I like that idea. Would keep the DIY forum really clean.
The only thing i could see being a pain would be stuff like this:
http://tuner-junction.com/TJForum/sh...ad.php5?t=1803
It could go in the project forum but then the nissan guys would be missing it. But if it stays in the nissan forum the people in the project forum might miss it. Not a huge problem right now, but as we grow... it could become one.

Well to combat that I would say post it in the "Project Forum" and then post a link in the Nissan forum pointing back to your project. I know other web sites don't like ding that but if it's just a simple redirect then I don't see the harm.

Not sure if I misread you, or you misread me.
I do not mean like everybody would make a new thread for each new part they put on.
Everybody one have one thread PER CAR, like your entire build would be one thread, my build, one thread, somebody elses build, one thread, no matter how many DYI they did in it, they get one thread where they get to list and talk about their project and keep people updated.
If you have 2 cars you're building, you get 2 separate threads.
I hope I made myself a little more clear.

I understand, but we have to make sure someone doesn't try and make a post and call it "their project thread" and then only talk about their new wheels. That's not a project.
Also, If I had one particular thread for my RIO project nobody would have been able to read through the whole thing. In my case one thread would have never worked. I really needed multiple ones, one for body work, one for engine, one for chassis. Then a whole bunch of DIYs actually explaining in detail how to duplicate a certain procedures (like the steering rack bushing that everyone PMs me about). The actual "project" forum shouldn't be a DIY/instructional forum, it should be more "show off" place for people to see the "big picture".
So, I think the idea is great, we are looking into something and you'll see it soon, but there's going to be a lot of grey area and experimenting.

I think it would be a good idea to make 1 master Project forum and 3 sub forums. One for DIYs, one to kinda of show off the work you have done(this fourm mostly pictures and explainning work ALREADY done to the car that pictures might not show) and the last forum would be where people can post their masterplans for their car. The last sub forum would be sort of a self checklist for the poster as well as a place to kinda put down what excatly you want out of the car and where you planned direction is.
This way you can tell people what your doing, when it done update your showcase file with pictures, then if you want/can write up an DIY if it's needed.
DYI usually are filled up quite quickly, we really don't need a DYI:installation CAI on **** for ever model of honda and nissan it would end up clogging up the fourm.

I dont think we have to worry about anybody matching your feat, and your detail and the amount of work you put into it for a while, so don't worry about you not fitting it all in.
I see your point, somebody gets new wheels goes into the project forum, posts picture of their car with the new wheels, and when he gets the cold air intake done, he makes a new thread with pictures.
That we'll have to figure out how to avoid.
We should have a set format on how to title each thread and whats allowed in it.
Like "Jadkars build thread" - even though we know it wont fit, because somebody got picture, description happy
The idea of sub division forums is a neat one too.
I was just throwing a rough one out there, this is where we refine it and making something good out of it.

X2! lets do it!
everyone makes there own thread and whenever they do new stuff or add something cool they update it, this would be a cool way to log the progress of everyones car, and would guide new "tuners"
