Forum wide suggestions
These are what imo I suggest for the well being of the forum:
*Split the video gallery into 2 subforums. 1 being for car video's the other being for other random video's.
-Also make rules against flaming or claiming reposts of videos that some1 might of seen on SHO but hasnt been posted on TJ
*Make a sticky in the Part review section in which users can ask some1 to make a review for them on a product.
-ive done this in my forums and it works well. Usually a mod or any other user would make the review thread for the user who asked.
*didnt check but do u have rules against flaming againsts makes/models since its not honda/acura no more and theirs many more makes
* Make ppl in DIY post in the thread title what type of car it applies to cuz something you can do on a honda u might not on a domsestic
*make rules in the supercharger/turbo areas so ppl dont flame one is better then the other or cause arguement threads
Ill have more later

Awesome suggestions!!
As far as rules there's some general ones in the FAQ that "A_white_GSR & Street_Accord" quickly drafted. These ARE a work in progress we will be adding more granular ones. Plus I literally have to check with my lawyer on other rules, since this site is registered with my corp. We will make a general announcement when the rules/ FAQ get finalized.
Your first 2 suggestions will be noted and discussed.
Thanks!!

maybe it's just me... but I personally think we could do without all the model specific forum nonsense... I mean, car models that aren't commonly used by tuners having their own forums doesn't make much sense... I mean, come on... Camry? Solara? nice cars, but they dont really belong on a tuner forum, I dont think.
Maybe try lumping stuff together until there's more traffic to a specific section... like all the mitsubishi stuff in a single mitsu forum, until traffic calls for specified forums, like say an Eclipse sub-forum in the Mitsu forum. Do the same with Nissan, and Toyota, etc.
and the domestic stuff? personally, having one forum noted as "Domestic" is enough... we dont need GM/Ford subforums or whatever... The way I've always seen it is import or domestic... mixing the two starts flame wars. I think you're leaning more towards the import side, based on the current users and the model forums you've chosen already... but it adds unneccessary disorganization... until your site traffic begs for a certain forum, there's no need.
I dunno... constructive criticism.

I know someone's gonna come out and say it... I know it's already semi-setup like what I just described.
It's just that you click on the "Automotive Forums" master list and are bombarded by like 50 different choices of models and there's no real organization to it... I'm sure the same thing would happen if there was one of those little drop down forum jump menus at the bottom like on SHO.

agreed. The least amount of forums the better, IMO. It seems as though we are losing touch with what we are trying to create here. Do you want a forum that is based on offtopic or based on Tech.....as it sits right now, i dont see the tech side showing its face much.

haha, I just said that... and oddly enough, it was in the OT forum.
I personally would rather have it lean more towards tech... the tech stuff is going to be what attracts new members... the offtopic stuff is just that, off topic. and it's really only amusing to the constant members.

Well its going to take time to get tech oriented memebers. Alot of people on the previous site werent. Just give it some time we want it more tech oriented as well.

I do agree with eliminating some of the sub forums. Right now its just more things to worry about. Like was said earlier the mitsu forum should just have mitsu related threads not car specific sub forums same for nissan infinity, domestic, and "other imports" It could clean up the site a bit until theres more traffic.
Its a learning process

More stuff
add:
iTrader as it is on www.d-series.org basically if you buy a part from a member or u sell someting u can rate how it went give them a positive rating or wtev.
make a arcade area so ppl can sit and play games on the forum. Will keep ppl occupied on the forum if they are bored and/or keep them coming cuz the site isnt only a form of information it would be a source of entertainment
Photopost
-have some system to keep the pics organized
Also I'm already a mod, owner, admin of several forums. The ones that are car related are listed in my sig if you guys need help I'll be more then glad to give you guys a hand. Hit me up
Also less scrolling for users to find whatever they want is best. So yes I do agree with cutting down some subforums.

Guys, I'm actually writing this post from my Treo 650 cell phone on the road. The reason I'm telling you that is to admit that I'm obsessed with making this the best site possible. Along with me we have 5 other founding members that are equally as crazy However, with that said it's not even 24 hours yet. Please give it some time!!
What I really want is less "everything else" and more technical automobile stuff. Tuner Junction is about lifestyle, but more about automobile tuning. As much as you guys want to state your opinion, and please we need them!! what we really need is you to get back to the automobile forums and post some technical data. Please we all want a technical site, but it's not us that makes it that way.....it's you!!
Now let's go and make this site what it's supposed to be and let the "other things" get ironed out on their own!!!
