any limitations to being a cop?

so i was wondering..... are there any really physical limitations that could keep you from being a cop? im just wondering. im thinking about getting my armed security gaurd license. and in a couple of years possibly joining the police academy. im asking because i guess i have a physical limitation, but really i just cant do a push up or a pull up.

heres what it is a pic of me. mind the undies

so would there be a problem? i spoke to a girl i know that went through the academy and she said that when she went there was a lady who had a full un-bending prosthetic leg. and she did everything cept the 3 mile morning run

Most places you have to pass the physical agility test before you're accepted. I really don't want to be an ass but think of the following. Would you be capable to assist another officer in a time of need. Such as to pull an officer to safety. And any number of other reasons. What I'm trying to get at is its not just yourself you have to think about, its the safety of others. Also we train to shoot with our off hand, in case the other is injured.

I dont think you can because of the physical requirements. Prostetic leg is one thing an arm is another. If anything look into some other government jobs that dont envolve the physical crap

If you can do everything but the gun thing why not go to a recruitment center or a station and find out. im sure different states do different things with different people.

Doing the bench press is part of the standard to get hired at our place. And unlike in the academy its a mandatory requirement to get hired.
