Tanabe Sustec Pro S-S

I'm looking at these for my coilovers but I can't really find much info or review on them

I have a 5th gen prelude and I am more concerned with preformance then ride quaility but if at all possiable I dont want the ride quaility to be complete shit

so anyone use these or know of any reviews?

how are they comprared to say tien SS with pillowball mounts.

EDIT: just noticed both the spring rates for the Sustec and the tien SS are 8kg/mm in front and 4 kg/mm

while the Tien flex's are 10kg/mm in the front and 6 kg/mm in the back

the stiff spring rates appeal to me but I'm not excatly sure I'll need them for what my car will be doing mostly street driven / taken to the strip and track during the season.

tanabe's use a helper spring which brings down the noise factor some what for daily driving. tein super streets are decent for some light track use but i wouldn't praise the suspension gods on how well they perform compared to say....ohlin or silkroad. if you get pillowball mounts with the teins it'll add more nvh. not much but to some it might be enough to get them to want a different setup. just my 2 cents.

LMAO. do u read that stuff or do u actually have experience?
silkroad were so glorified in the states, pfffft. it was merely a typical case of not much experience combined with 'i talk up alot of the product i buy to make myself feel better', ohlin's however are good and have a more structured valving system to them. adjustability is commited through damper rotational valve seats. u actually have an internal difference that makes a difference to ur adjustment. its also been proven via dyno graphs.

essentially u pay for what u get but a toss up between the flex's and the s-s. they are both entry level coilovers with reasonable performance but dont expect magic out of them. regardless they'll feel alot better than stock suspension anyway

fulcrum angles and certain differences in suspension geometry would differ between honda and nissan so comparing spring rates would be defunct. but those spring rates arent too bad for a honda. u'll be happy with either. tanabe released se7en's recently (late last year early this year) that are more performance orientated and the valving/spring rates are more aggressive for performance. but ur thinking the right way. whether or not u actually NEED that for ur application is another deal.......

helper springs DO NOT bring down any noise factor. they mainly do their job as just that, to help main spring from being captive. esp. when there isnt much 'preload' on the main (if thats how u adjusted it). hence, 'drooping' where u remove the helper spring to go lower does not do anything in terms of noise but helps u go lower, but im not gunna bother explaining non-progressive and progressive main springs/valving to suit.

i was always under the impression that the helper also reduced some noise and nvh levels to some degree. but yes i do come from some experience when i speak of silkroads. but if you have the data to back it up then i am at fault for whatever you speak of since you seem to know alot more then i will ever know.

what i'm wonderin' is why didn't you reply to him earlier since you already have a very valid reply to his question.
