seperating the ball joints

i'm starting to think i'm gonna do this idea on my swap
http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=887859
if anyone can elaborate on this, it'll be helpfull. i DLed the vid too.

i really dont get some of it. but lemme get this straight. they put a jack up on the arm, lifted it somewhat. used the rachet to unbolt the bolt, removed the jack, then to the hammer to the brake rotor to pop off the ball joint. but how the heck do you get the ball joint back into place?

I personally use a pickle fork. and just hammer it till it comes out.
To put it back in place, you just make sure its straight and slide it back into the hub. Its really easy.

Pickel forks will get the job done, but you have to be careful to not rip the boot.
What I do is use a inpact to get the nut off, then I take a good sized hammer and beat on the lower control arm where the ball joint goes through, sometimes I will have a friend pry with a prybar while I beat on it. If this doesn't work then I get a pickel fork.

As far as what they did with the rachet, it seems like a real good idea, I think I will try it when I put my next trans in.......Stupid weak diffpins
