chattering sound from my new shocks

so i got my shocks and sprins installed, they are used but in good conditions. anyways, all 4 are in good working order but the drivers side rear one makes some noises. its hard to describe but its metal on metal noises, like something is slipping. first of all, i know i put it gtogether fine and the car rides fine but its anooying me that it makes that noise.

its only when i go over a really hard bump or when the shock extends. its like when the strut compresses it makes no noise, but when it decombresses, it makes the noise.

i have a feeling it could be just the spring, but it doesnt sound like it. it sounds like it was as if the rear had a pnch bolt and it was loose and the shock was slipping out of place... but of course, the rear doesnt have a pinch bolt. anyone can help id appreciate it

Check all your bolts, make sure everything is still tight. If you can, take your wheel off and check how the spring is mounted on the shock to make sure it isn't sitting improperly or something. If everything is fine maybe it's a faulty shock? Maybe the person who had them before you fucked up a strut in a pothole or something (hope not).
