what direction, aesthetically, should I go with my S?

probably gonna do some cosmetic mods here pretty soon... curious to get some opinions on it.

I ran into a silverstone S2K the other day here in ATL, he had blacked out his taillamps, which I thought was fucking hot... so I'll probably do that. I can't really figure out how it works though... either that VHT paint or basic window tint on the lenses... I'm pretty wary of using the paint, so I'll probably try the regular tint first.

next step is gonna be the clear diffusers for the headlamps. simple shit, but it makes a huge difference, I think.

next I'm thinkin either a front lip or rims... I'd do the front lip first most likely, the choices I'm leaning into are either the OEM lip, or the Amuse version. I love the Amuse version and would rather have that, but I can only seem to find it in fiberglass. I wouldn't mind a knockoff version if it was urethane. If I can't find a similar one in urethane, then I'll just go OEM. I would really just prefer not to have fiberglass on there... I've dealt with fiberglass before, and it's too much upkeep to daily drive. If I'm going to go ahead and get a front lip, should I get the sides and/or rear too?? I had just a front lip on my 'Lude, and I loved the look, and I've seen some S2Ks with just the front that're pretty hot, so I dont think it'd be a big deal.

then I'll need rims (there's too many to decide, but I'll probably go with a gunmetal/polished lip with rivets... not sure yet on the exact model)... 17"s obviously.

this is so fucking sexy... I love it. OEM lip. I'd like mine to be the same, just in silver with blacked out tails and no hardtop... I considered the Amuse lip, it's similar, just slightly more aggressive. plus, I can't find it in urethane.

here's the amuse lip: (sorry, small crappy pic)

Personally I'd go with the oem lip, the head and tailight mods you were talking about, and some black racing pro N1's http://www.1010tires.com/wheel.asp?w...o+N 1+-+Black ...in 17s ofcourse .
Have you considered a nice drop?

silver cars and bronze rims. simple.

if ur gunna get something with a polished lip. its simply laughable when it doesnt have dish. considering its a FR car as well.....its kinda a 'disgrace' to not have dish in the rim subculture.

VOLK CE28N.

that white s2k from amuse u posted. the rear has good wheel fitment.
a slight roll and pull of the fenders is required to get that hella flush fitment that EVERYONE desperately needs. too few ppl doin it with honda's.

golden rule:
if ur not pushing the fitment boundaries of the car with the fenders, then u dont have good enough fitment

i wouldnt be worried about fibreglass if i were you, i run 8 panels of fibreglass and 1 dry CF and dont have a problem.

i wouldnt have a problem having a fibreglass lip. paint it gloss black with a bit of flake in it (either silver or rainbow) and have bronze rims with gangsta wheel fitment.

i actually prefer the OEM one than that mid 90's lookin amuse lip.
the amuse lip to me looks kinda half ass....if ur gunna have somethin tryin to be that aggressive, its never gunna cut it like a full kit would look. it reminds me of too many fanboy civics out there.

even the red s2k there should be a tad bit lower both front and rear, u basically want to make it look like there's NO GAP at all (either horizontally[between fender and tyre] OR vertically[wheel gap]).

I like mild body work and the hardtop like already mentioned. I'm actually not a fan of the deep dish wheels, the only deep dish I like is my pizza Kevlar will undoubtedly try and correct me but even he has to admit for the most part with deep dish wheels you normally pay a price in weight. With that fact in mind there's an old saying in racing, "Weight is evil, and unsprung weight is the devil". Heavy wheels puts the weight right where it hurts the most, especially on a Honda with low torque and a ultra high power band. I say get some really light wheels, conservative body work and dump more cash into the real deal.......... Comptech SC FTW!!!!

Comptech SC S2000 taken at Comptech's shop during my trip to CA. Comptech FTW!!!

thats absolutely true. nissan's get away with it with a good load of power and natural light weight distribution at the back.

as i said, get some GOOD OFFSET CE28N's in bronze. i reckon it'll look better.

or check out WORK XD9's. they got a bit of dish, and when there's a bit of dish. NOTHING beats it when its coloured dish. check out the bronze ones. so dope.

btw: besides that golden rule above.

make the car FIT the wheel, not the WHEEL fit the car. do wutever it takes to make it fit.

dunno how much adjustment u got suspension wise. but as long as u have 0 toe. u wont wear tyres much as long as u stay within the boundaries of 3 degrees camber.

remember. each degree negative u go. the rim fits 5mm further in. by mathematical equation
hell stretch tyres to make it fit lol. providing u got enough dimension. i think the most u can go with s2k's odd is 9" wide. wheel wells are small.

I'm a OZ Superleggera fan myself, extremely light weight. I had them on my NSX and they were the second lightest wheel option out at the time.

On the NSX.....
OZ Superleggera 17x7 15.4
OZ Superleggera 18x9 16.4

For S2000.....

Front / Rear
Diameter: 17 / 17
Width: 7 / 8
Offset: 45 / 48
Weight: 15.4 / 16.4

if ur gunna have a bit of a lip (anything under 2inches is LIP, not dish), coloured lip rules

check WORK XD9
http://www.work-wheels.co.jp/wheels/...xd9/index.html

those work rims blkcvc posted are meisterS2R's.

http://www.work-wheels.co.jp/wheels/...t2r/mst2r.html

they were a classic rim used 5 years ago. still around today but not as prolific in the nissan scene. frankly i dont think u should get these cos i think the lip/dish is gunna be pathetic for s2k's. wheel design is good, but only looks AWESOME if u have enough dish. which for s2k's wont be possible.

VOLK CE28N
i love these rims, esp in good offsets. go for 8 front 9 rear in the 30 range offset. 17/18 ur preferance. they're light anyway. also a coloured lip. (THAT YELLOW S2K JOHN POSTED: fitment isnt bad, but he could go 20mm further out if those are the offsets), providing camber and tyre dimensions are the same.

Is it just me or do those rims look the same as the ones on the maserati in my sig?

yes they probaly won't have a significant lip/dish but there are ways around that I'm sure

yeah thats why im veering towards coloured lips for him (note rays' CE28N's and XD9's from work). ur just not gunna get enough of depth in those dish-type rims to have them lookin respectable.

sure every schmo will think they look great. but its rim subculture man! rims make the damn car lol
ive seen some totally gutted/fucked up s13's but have awesome wheel fitment, and that KILLS those fanboy cars with paint and bodykits with sunken shadow battleship shit fitment rims.

guys here try to buy second hand GTC's. cos they cant afford first hand custom offset orders. and they go buy the "recommended fitment" chart the jap catalogues usually have. suffice to say, they end up with the most PATHETIC dish and the most SHITHOUSE wheel fitment.

its laughable, then when they look at mine. they wonder why they fail so hard. they still dont understand wheel fitment, they still just dont get it. i leave em be. ignorance is their punishment lol

I think they are, Superleggeras are used on a lot of race cars. The name in Italian means "Super Light" and that they are!!

you could probaly get a better fitment or more lip if the fenders where flared. or you could get a widebody kit but I haven't seen too many that look good on the s2000

The XD9's are great looking rims but I'm not to sure the would "fit" the look of the car itself. they look good on alot of cars, but with the profile of the s2000 they just don't quite look right.

I think it getting harder and harder to find a good rim that stands out that everyone isn't copying. meisters2r is old but I think the colors the rims come in really make them stand out.

just remember for wheels... the S's like relatively high offsets

and try to keep at least the 1" width stagger that comes factory on the S

check s2ki... they have a wheel fitment guide/faq posted in the wheels/tires forum
