more problems with my S!!!
DAMMIT!!! ugh this is pissing me off, having problems with this beautiful car!!
so yesterday morning, 8am, and I'm driving to work. It's raining. I pull out of my neighborhood onto a small, two lane road. Further down the road, it turns into a larger, four lane road. As my side of the road merges from one lane into two, I merge into the right-most lane. As I do this, another car (bigass ford suv) pulls out into the road in front of me. Literally not two feet in front of me. So I swerve to the left, but there's traffic on my left, so I try to cut back to the right, and at this point, the rear wheels just lost traction entirely... so I fishtail and my passenger side goes straight into the curb, leaving me with two dented rims and two flat tires on the passenger side.
So I'm pissed off now, obviously... and I get the shit towed to a local shop, where I get two new, semi-crappy tires. The wheels weren't fucked up too bad. As I'm leaving the shop, my car is insanely out of alignment... so I drive back and have them check the suspension.
They check it out, said everything looks okay... got the alignment done and back into specifications.
Now... my car tends to go straight without me holding the wheel about 85% of the time... the rest of the time, it pulls slightly to the passenger side. On top of that, while driving, letting out the clutch will cause my car to jerk to the left, then back to the right as I re-engage the clutch. It does this at virtually all rpms, but only under certain throttle conditions (anything more than probably about 30% open)
My guess is that maybe I busted a mount or something... cause I've checked out the engine, and under load, it moves to the passenger side... when taking it off, the engine reverts to the driver's side... so that makes sense as to why the car jerks while shifting... but I've been up under the car to check it out, and everything physically looks okay...
any other ideas?? I fucking hate this car right now... it just feels weird to drive... kinda loose in the steering, you know? maybe it's just that now I've fucked it up and things just never feel the same after you've fucked em up.

Maybe your alignment is still messed up? i think its kind of wierd that you had it realigned but it still pulls something like that. Logistically, i'm gonna guess that it yanks to the side when you let off to clutch because your letting power return to the wheels, so i would assume that since you just got into a wreck like that, that something is still busted under the car...check all your ball joints, see if your tie-rod ends are oki...even go so far as to lift up the car and take the wheels off to get a better look...
other then that im as clueless a you
I KNOW that didn't help you out one bit...but i'm scanning through a manual right now to see what would all be effected by something like that....sorry mang

yeah it's fucked up. I've already had the wheels off, both fronts anyway, to check the shit out... and everything looks fine. I dont see anything out of place, stretched, bent, broken... nothing.
It never did the pulling thing while changing gears until AFTER this happened...

Yeah I know you used to own a red lude with a wwrs lip and nitrous.
FD's are nice. They seem to have a lot of problems even when u baby them though. Its a constant struggle to keep them in good shape.
How happy are u with the S2000 so far? I mean, not considering the problems.

minus this and the window problem I had earlier, I'm happy as hell with it... it's a badass car... a little on the expensive side, but badass, and def. worth it.
I wish it had a little extra room... for carrying shit and whatnot.

sad to hear bro, dont give up the S so fast (IF you sell it, sell me your invida exhaust ) i would go to another alignemnt shop to check again the aligment specs, also i would check the caster and toe...
Check the balancing on the rims... mmm
You also have two different type of tires, since you said that you bought two cheap tires for the passenger side so ...
I hope you can solve this issue

check your sway bar, Control arms, tie rods....everything. You could have bent something and even with a perfect alignment, its still going to cause some crap.

i've been up under there, and nothing looks bent... but you know, even the slightest bend could fuck up this car, with everything being so precise and all.
After talking with a couple of people I know in shops and from my auto school, I'm beginning to think that maybe it's just the tires... considering now that the passenger side has brand new tires on it, and the drivers side has tires with maybe 15K on em... and they're two different brands so it's possible the actual sizes are different entirely...
I could see how that would fuck this car up too...
I dunno, know that I've been driving it for a couple days, it seems like the problem is lessening... it doesn't jerk nearly as much during shifting, although it still slightly pulls every once in a while. I dunno, either it's the freshness of the tires wearing off or I'm just getting used to it... one or the other.
I think maybe I'll just go get a new set of 17s with fresh, matched tires here sometime soon... something I've been looking at doing anyway, and now is just a good reason to do so...

Thats false all you have to do is replace its factory rotoary seals with a aftermarket seal. Problem soloved.

most people wouldnt have problems if they didnt act like it was a race car in bolt on form. It needs a full engine build just like anything else. It is more prone to breakage because of the rotary design. But it doesnt mean it cant be reliable.

Its not that simple. There are plenty of weak parts on an FD and there is no magic aftermarket seal (apex/coolant or whatever) that will make the problems go away. FD's will always be more fragile than most other cars out there.
If you get one you probably will never have the total piece of mind that your car is totally ok or will not blow up on you (maybe literally ) at any time
In a way all cars are on the road to breakdown, FD's just live closer to the edge than most other cars.

if they are different sizes this will definately cause a problem...check it out asap!
different tread patterns shouldnt cause a problem...but then again i have never had mis-matching tread on the front of my car only the rear which makes no difference

if the tune is !!!PERFECT!!! they are great! however they are subject to blowing in seconds if there is the slightest sign of detonation....while they are cheap they arent very robust to say the least...im talking about mod'd engines also...
