Fuji to host Japanese Grand Prix in 2007

Quote:
According to the Japanese media in 2007 the Japanese Grand Prix won't be at Suzuka, but at the Fuji Speedway. Bernie Ecclestone told Japanese media that the FOA has signed a multi-year contract with Fuji-Speedway starting in 2007.

Suzuka first organised a Formula One race back in 1987, and has since then organised the Japanese Grand Prix every season. It might be possible though for Suzuka to keep Formula One coming to the track near Nagoya.

Suzuka President Ikuo Shimizu held talks with Ecclestone in Bahrain to try and keep F1 at Suzuka. Shimizu told The Yomiuri Shimbun: "I am not surprised at all (to see Fuji host F1). We will keep negotiating though to get a deal with Ecclestone. "

Ecclestone already said it could be interesting to host two races in Japan as Formula One now counts three Japanese teams.
Change is always good.

Malaysia will be good for Renault - Alonso

Quote:
Fresh from victory in the opening round of the season in Bahrain, Fernando Alonso heads to Malaysia confident that the circuit will suit him and the Renault car. However, Alonso is wary of the threat from McLaren, Ferrari and Honda.

"I think we can expect a very interesting start to the season," Alonso said. "As we thought from testing, there are four teams fighting to win at any type of circuit - Honda, McLaren, Ferrari and Renault. We can all win races, so it will be a fun time in the coming weeks."

"Sepang has always been one of my favourite circuits, and I seem to have important moments of my career there too - my first pole and podium in 2003, and the first win of my championship in 2005," he added. "I am arriving on the back of a win, at a super circuit, so I am very happy and hopefully we can win again. Traditionally, this is a strong track for Renault. "
HAHA DAVE!
