Girlie with an import prelude needs some help!!!

I have a 1991 imported vtech prelude, after a recent trip to the beach and many speed bumps later, my speedo has decided to stop working. Its intermitant, and someone has suggested it might be a loose connection.......... I have no clue as to where the connections will be, if anyone could help shed some light on this I would be very greatfull!! Im not a total barbie, I just cant read Japanesse!!!!

Tranny = transmission. Not sure if the transmission is called a gear box in the uk. ohh and by the way its vtec not vtech. The H is invisible. There should be a cable connected to the top of the transmission that looks like its plugged into a sensor. check that.

Edit: Moved this to the prelude forum. Since you joined in july and its now august this doesnt really qualify as a welcome thread. Plus you might be better served in the prelude forum since this is a 'lude tech question.

there might be a chance that the speed sensor is shot too.. go check that out as well.. if it is, u either get the repair kit or get a brand new one.. honda actually improved the speed sensors since they don't really last very long in my country due to the heat, so they changed the casing and a few other things in the thing (i dunno if it only applies here, as in done by honda malaysia)

Not to bite u in the ass but is VTEC and yeah if its a cable in the cluster check that too and yes gearbox is a tranny as well this is a common problem after a engine swap cuz we somethings lose the metal pin that holds the cable to the speedo down!!!
