Buying parts for a friend

I am buying some parts for my friend's 97 base while he is away in the Army. He is looking for a new intake manifold, header and high-flow cat along with a few other things. When it comes to the intake mani, I have heard bad things about the Skunk2 one, but nothing but praise when it comes to the Euro R manifold, especially the one from Blacktrax. Can anyone tell me how good of a product this is? Also for a header he is looking for something that will produce good numbers, but does not want to spend a rediculous amout of money. Therefore, the RMF and SMSP are pretty much out of the question. His price range is probably going to be under $700 for the header, so if anyone can give me some ideas it would be greatly appreciated. I have been looking into the Hytech and Vibrant headers, but have been unable to find any information about them or anywhere that sells them. Finally, for a high-flow cat I was thinking about the Random-tech cats since they already come with the flanges for an easy installation. Does anybody know of any other cats that work well and are bolt-on as opposed to universal that need to be welded on? Sorry for the long post and any help is greatly appreciated.

if he cant afford an RMF or SMSP, then you wont be able to afford a hytech. They are more than the RMF and smsp headers. other headers in that price range are Prospeed, ANR, Kteller, Greddy with modified 2.5" collector, Vibrant and some others. In all seriousness, a randomtech cat is like 200+ dollars. A carsound cat is ~100. Use the other 100 dollars towards a better header. If he can afford 700 dollars, he can afford another ~200 for an RMF. My carsound cat is universal with no flanges. I have my cat welded to my flex pipe and exhaust.

Blacktrax is a great company, blactraxgirl / Natalie is a member of this forum and will be able to aid you with what you need from their shop.
