JDM cupholder is one of the best things ever

I can not tell you how happy I am with this thing it's awesome.

I ordered mine thru http://shop.store.yahoo.com/yhst-140.../prbb6tys.html

they also have a lot of other good deals and simple JDM stuff for the 5th gens(I'm probably going to order my fogs from them.)

First off Customer service was excellent. Becuase of a recent move my shipping and billing address need to catch up with each other. This caused a problem in my order, the problem was addressed and solved within the day of ordering thru E-mail.

Shipping was next day but I am only like 20 miles from where this place ships from apprently.

Packing was professonal and well done.

ANYWAY on to the item it self.

The JDM holder was a geniune honda part as stated and this of course made it fit perfectly.

The install takes like 45 minutes but I smoked before hand kinda dicked around cleaning whatever goop the previous owned had under the center console. It was probably syrup for many a drinks slipped from the USDM cup holder.

It's straigtfoward and simple but if anyone wants a write up I can do one from memory but I don't have pictures (no digi cam) it's all just unscrewing screws.

The differences from the USDM and the JDM holder is the center sliding piece. The JDM center piece is more shapely as to actually fit a cup, not some sort of wierd domed box thing the USDM one is shaped for. The center piece is thicker and contors to the cups more, it also have a knob in the center. When this knob is turned small plastic tabs rotate out from the center to form a holder if your cup is smaller size, like the size of a bottle or a water cup from a fastfood place. Sadly soda cans don't fit well with the tabs open and are a tad loose with the tabs closed. Also since the center slider is thicker on both sides there really is no room in the holder for 2 drinks anymore. The back portion of the holder can't fit a larger sized drink and with a large drink in the front section no drink will fit. When the tabs are opened nothing fits in the back holder at all. This was not a loss to me at all though since I can't drive with 2 giant plastic things in the way of my shifting.

So does it really stop the slipping? Tested it out tonight, stoped by a 7/11 after work, filled up a big glup with vanilla pepsi, paid the man with money and got in my car. I set the cup in the holder, Slide the center part in place, perfect fit!

Took the remaining 4 turns at a nice healthy 25 ish never once was I worried the cup would slip and it did not.

Cliff notes

JDM cupholder >>> USDM cupholder

Yeah USDM cupholders suck. I think I already posted about this somewhere else but my friends entire large dr pepper from burger king ended up inside mine. I literally had a pool of dr pepper in my cupholder. Therefore, JDM cupholders FTW

haha... "hold my drink bitch"

i dunno, $50 is alot for a cup holder. Just stay away from the biggie sized combo meal drinks / 7-11 mega gulp's and you`ll be alright.

I always put mine in the compartment under the armrest and just jam whatever esle is in there around it so it doesnt move. I have to drive with that up anyways cause it gets in the way of my long ass arm when I shift, so it works out perfectly.

agreed... I hated mine when had my 'lude... i tried to just not have drinks in the car... and if I had to, I only carried cans or small cups...

that thing sucks. haha, the lone cup holder in the S is only large enough for one can anyway... and nothing else. so much for carrying drinks in this thing... but at least they stay in place!
