Clutch recommendations.

Well I think I need to change out my clutch here soon, as well as do my timing belt. I was thinking about getting a fidanza lightweight flywheel as well but not sure if I'll be able to spend the dough on it right now.

Whats a good brand to get and whats the differance in the clutch kits and just the clutches?

I'll heard exedy and ACT are good as well as clutchmasters.

Exedy makes oem honda clutches under the name daikin, so your pretty much guarunteed(sp?) quality with them. I have the stage 1 organic with a proclutch 9.6lb flywheel. Its nice and easy for DD and it has something like a 36% hold increase over stock. Best of all I got it the whole kit for around $220 shipped from the proclutch guys on ebay. I know some of you are a little iffy about ebay but let me assure you this was actually a good deal. And furthermore he upgraded my shipping to two day for free because he knew I couldnt drive my car until it arrived. It literally arrived in two days. The only thing is that you have to rev to about 1.5-2k to get going with the lightwieght flywheel, but you end up getting used to it. Oh and a clutch kit will come with everything you need to replace the clutch (clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, etc.)

I might go with that looks like a pretty good deal, I know the flywheel isn't as hyped up as he makes it to be but seems to be good for me right now. I'm just now really getting a feel for the car a new flywheel is gonna throw me off a bit but I just gotta remember to rev it a bit higher

can always change to a fidanza when this one dies out since it doesn't look like you can just replace the surface.

I like the Spec clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel combo. http://www.specclutch.com/
I have a CRX dedicated track car (road course not drag) with a modded B18c so all the cars sees if high rev on the floor time and tons of high rev-matching downshifts. I run stage two set up (little different than what they have now) and the engagement was better than the ACT that was in my car. I have the 8.5lb. flywheel set up and I really like the lightened flywheel. The motor revs so much better. If you by a spec or other sprung clutch set up you might request that they stress relieve the corners of the spring windows. It is done with a very small drill bit that makes a 3/4 circle in each corner of the spring window metal. That keeps those windows from cracking under harsher conditions. I have blown up a clutch with a spring window cracking before. But then the Honda OEM clutches (as someone pointed out made by Exedy) have been known to do the same and my anemic Civic beater car which I did not thrash had a spring window crack and fail.

i had the exedy stage 1 organic with a new stock flywheel in my Prelude... drove pretty much just like stock, only stronger. Held up really well with the nitrous. I'd recommend it to anyone with a light power application

I have a ACT HD-SS in right now and i like it a lot. It gives a nice push back and a stffer push in. I also have a 8lb fly wheel and enjoy the catchE_ness of it.
