Tps??
I've been having a problem with my h22a1 sputtering and hesitating. Since the swap was done I have been throwing a code for the TPS. However for a while I was running on my old p14 ecu so i was in limp mode but was not having any problems. I finally got a hold of a jdm p13, and that is when the sputtering problem started. I thought it was a problem with the ecu, since the car ran fine on the p14, so I just recently got a chipped p28 from phearable.net. Turns out I am still haveing the same problems with the new ecu, so I figure it has to be the TPS since that is the only cel I am throwing. Now the car bogs out and and then jerks and hesitates like crazy when the car is cold. Once it warms up it runs much better, but I can still feel some fluttering unless I am at least at half throttle. It runs fine if I am constantly accelerating, but if I am just cruising and only giving it a little gas I can feel the hesitation. Can somebody tell me if this problem has anything to do with the TPS? I am going to replace the TPS anyways, but if that does't fix my problem then I am out of ideas. Any help is greatly appreciated. And sorry about the long post.

i've got problems with my TPS but i am not throwing a CEL. If you just got the ecu from john and through it in without a tune, you cant expect the car to drive perfectly. When i first ran john's basemap, startup was pretty bad but the car drove normal after warming up. It was especially bad in cold weather. You need to get the car tuned in the first place. That will more than likely fix your problem with the bucking. If it still persists after a tune, you will need to get your TPS calibrated or need to replace it.

That's the wierd part. It runs exactly the same on the stock p13, and since the engine is stock that makes me thing it's something besides the ecu and the tune.

My check engine light is on. When I pull the code it is a code 7, which is for the tps, and that is the only code showing. I'm just trying to figure out if that is what is causing the hesitation or if I have bigger problems to fix that I don't know about yet.

It is because your TPS reports are overdue that you are getting that code. Sorry I say "tps" and could not resist. Good luck. "stapler".
