is this normal? if not what could be wrong

my car usually runs pretty poorly either way because of some of the problems im having after the h22 swap, but for some reason it seems to run alot shittier and hesitate alot worse when its fully warmed up. is there a reason for this? anyone have any ideas? i have a chipped p28 on the way, and since im using the same h23 distributor thats ben on the car since 93 and has ben tossed around in boxes and back seats of cars, ill order a new one next paycheck. other then those 2 possibilities, i cant theing of any other reason it would run worse when warmed up.

well the reason im buying that p28 is because i suspect the ecu being bad causing all my problems...its a long story, its all in my thread "i think i need an ecu?". it should be here this upcoming week so ill put it in then and see what happens.

I find it odd that it takes a reallllly long time for the h22 to be fully warmed up. Like 50miles of driveing.

Welcome to the mistry hesitation prob. of the h22.

ive ben a honda guy for some time now, and have not heard yet of a mystery hesitation problem. almost always, when a honda has a hesitation problem...its the distributor. so thats what im goin with here. as far as my other problems, i think ive done enough diagnosing to have reason to believe tha tthe ecu took a big ol shat!

is there a hesitation issue? if so, do you know the cause besides a possible bad distributor?

um it takes my H22a4 about 5 minutes to warm up? I don't have any hesitation problems and I can engange Vtec after about 3 minutes of driving if I wanted to. Now I didn't do a swap but I've never heard of any of those problem either.

BUt I would say swap out the disturbitor and the ECU and see what happens then.

thats exactly what i came up with, the ecu is on its way from phearable, and next paycheck ima get a distributor, oil catch can, and a forbidden short shifter.

bad hesitation can be caused by a couple other things too. A bad fuel mixture possibly? your distributor may be fine but maybe you got a bad plug wire or spark plug. Check for some carbon tracings on your plug wires and spark plugs.

eh...the plugs and wires are all new, i did check them already tho just to rule that out. the way i figure it is if this new ecu doesent fix some of my other problems, then ill still have a chipped p28 in the lude in the long run

ah my apologizes for not reading but i got you know. Seriously all i can say is that you look like your on the right track. I'v seen cases of fluctuating CELs due to a funky ECU so swapping the ECU seems like its the only solution if all your other tests proved to be good. eleminated the CEL can change the situation dramatically anyways so...i guess im with you on that note.

sorry for the mix up brother, hope everything turns out good. Ill check on some dealership service manuals and see what else is up in regard to this...

thanks man, i appreciate it. the ecu is only 185 shipped. not bad! i really hope that is the cause of my many problems here, if not, i have some more work to do. i was at work when i was playing with this, and i couldnt find any ecu pinouts on mitchell motors...so i called honda, and could you believe that they dont have any pinouts either i couldnt believe that.
