Polarizer: What's the best besides B+W?
I was looking at the B+W multicoated polarizers (MRC) in 77mm, they run about $140. At my work, I can get an employee discount on camera equipment, but they don't carry B+W filters. So besides the B+W MCR filters, what's another great polarizing filter I could get at 77mm?

How much you pay? What thread size?
I might do a Hoya, but I also might get the Nikon if the price after discount is good. How often you use the filter, btw?

Tadashi, do you have a single coated or multicoated polarizer? I was looking at the Calumet (made by Hoya) SMC circular polarizers, 77mm, it goes for $129.99
That Calumet regular (single coated) circular polarizer, 77mm, goes for $69.99
I am assuming they both use the same glass, but the SMC has the extra 7 coatings "to eliminate internal reflections and ghosting." "Advanced thin selective film is used to guarantee perfectly polarized light with neutral color balance."
Also i'm trying to find out if the pricey Nikon one is multicoated, I can get it for $100, but only in 72mm.

Just came back from Calumet Photo, in 77mm they only had this Calumet Non Coated Polarizer for $70, and this Calumet MultiCoated Polarizer (MC) for $111.
I was gonna get the non coated one, but they didn't have any of the 72-77mm step up rings I needed so I didn't buy anything. I'm a do more research on the polarizers. I am tempted to get the Nikon one for $100 (they sell for like $230) at my work, but I heard they are a bitch to clean, and my work only has it in 72mm. (i'd rather have it in 77mm i case I get any pro lenses later on)

Crap.
My step up filter, was delivered today at 7:30am, but to the wrong zip code. Not sure if it's the sender or USPS's fault, but either way I now have no step up filter so I can use my Hoya Polarizer. I'm probably gonna end up buying one at Ritz for $16. So i've already spent $6.50 on the one that was supposed to be here, plus the $16 i'm gonna spend on another one. So basically i'm paying $23ish for one measly step up filter. (who know if i'll get the other filter or reimbursed for it)

Crap again, but good final outcome.
So I was about to go to Ritz to get the step up, but instead I go home, and what do I find, the step up filter in my mail box that wasnt' there earlier when it was supposed to have been already delivered but to the wrong zip code. So I believe there was some kind of error in USPS's tracking database. Because now when I put in the same tracking number it says it was delivered at 11:30am to my correct zip code.
Go figure.
But I have the step up and filter now, i'll do some "tests" tommorrow. I did a few ones inside, but just to see how many stops it cut down and vig issue.
With the step up and the polarizer it vigs a bit at 18mm. (Nikon 18-200mmVR lens) But that's not really an issue since using a polarizer at a wide angle is a very bad idea anyway. (1/2 the sky or such will be polarized, the rest wont') But when I put it at 24mm there is no vig whatsoever.
And with just the stepup there is no vig at all at, even 18mm.
I'll see tommorrow if it will vig at 18mm with the stepup and a 77mm UV filter.
