Both are great shots, and I especially like the many curves and ripples present in the chrome shot.
I'm not very good at critiquing, and I honestly can't offer any advice or serious critique. I noticed you used a semi-wide aperture to make the flower stick out more to give that 3d effect, which is really cool. The bokeh of the background has a nice creamy blur. Great shots man.

yeah depth of field can really make an image. seperation from subject to background is typically a key control you want to obtain. thanks for the kind words
