240sx engine problem =(
I started my 240, and the whole car is shaking violently. The idle is erratic, I popped my hood and my engine is shaking violently and there is a loud sputtering when i drive and when i'm at idle. I put my hand to the exhaust and the exhaust is sputtering. What can this be?????  |

so start up. as in ur ignition is all ok?
just that when the engine is running it sputters and almost dies on you.??
exhaust would most likely be shaking because the engine is. sounds like fuel starvation....check ur fuel pump. might be on its last legs considering how old the car is. actually check out ur whole fuel system. check the injectors. check ur sparkies while ur at it. check the pump.

What do your plugs and wires look like? It could be something as simple as a tune up
