um ya so this sucks
so my oil line or oil pump fucked up and
my gift was a rod knock.
oh fun.
but it doesnt end there, listening to it the others think meh u got like 2 months on it. itll be aight
10 miles later on my way home ... fuck its getin loud...................
BOOM motor goes dead
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee rod went right out the side of the motor and was hangin there

I dont know about the older ka but the ka in the 1995 and up 240 here is strong. Like that guy I posted in the nissan thread his 240 is boosting in the 300s and hes running consistent 11s and the engine doesnt have an issue

how long do they generally last with those kind of numbers? i wouldnt expect them to reach many km's on stock internals

yeah, well most of the ones Ive seen personally have lasted over a year and when they have went it wasnt because the engine couldnt handle the power it was something else that led to it or something wasnt done right. What makes or breaks those high power stock blocks are the parts you use to boost it and the tune. I find that alot of the people that blow their ka's are the ones that have skimped on tunning. Like blake will tell you, no tune no life. Especially when your pushing a stock engine that far those things come with like 150 something break hp stock and your pushing more then double that to the wheels. They can hold up I think on several forums they have proven that on stock internals it will take more power then the SR20. The difference is that their is alot better support for the sr20 so if you want to build it the sr20 has more options.
Like I said the ka is a good engine but an engine is only as good as the parts you use. If you want to run 13s with a ka you can get away with a budget setup and still get pretty decent times but if you really want to push the stock block you need to have everything running perfectly. Their is no room for failure. The 240 I posted may be at the limit of what you can get out of a stock ka |

Dude, good luck with your family man. Cars can always wait. Sorry about your look. I would save and get a ST but im partial. Im not a fan of KA's at all. Granted some people are running 300+ on them for a year or two but they eventually go. I dont really wanna get into an arguement. Do your research and make a decision based from your research. best of luck,
