NismoCoupe's build up thread

as asked for. here is my buildup thread.
lets start off by what she's gotten in the past 2 weeks of ownership

1. DC front strut bar
2. Megan Racing rear strut bar
3. K-sport Slide control drift Coilovers
4. Welded diff- ya i know ( but money be tight now)
5. intake adapter and filter
6. new spark plugs and wires
7. Red'd out the taillights amber section
8. exhaust
9. Clutch excedy stage 1 need to install ASAP
10. gutted out the extra shit.
11. fixed the fan shroud ( was hitting the fan )
12. 7 spoke se rims
13. brown wire mod for teh lazy eyes
14. painted rear bumper white (it was black)


more to come in the next 3 weeks but my first drift practice in her is next sunday so damn it i need that clutch in ASAP

all intentions are to get her sideways. thats bout it.

next mods are tc rods, sway bars, bushings, roukas, racing seat and harness

then im onto power-
Sr20det greddy fmic, maxima maf, 3 inch catback, not sure as to what wastegate yet, and cams, and a couple other things. hoping to do this all in dec ish.

Then roll cage

then i'll worry about the looks

wastegate??? get a GTRS...good response, internal gate, unless you like the sounds of the apocalypse, which are awesome, but attract waaay too much attention on the street

if u go sr20det.....seriously.......195's just arent gunna cut it......u may as well through in a 5 lug conversion with brakes to suite and get yourself some decent cheap rims....like Work CR KAi's........in at least 17.......and a good tyre width/profile.........
195's ur gunna have trouble controlling your car.....its gunna end up more frustrating than anything.....

oh i dont use the 195's to drift man. those were the tires that came with the rims the car had on it when i bought it.

for now 205's on a 15 for the practice

but hopefully some 17's when i go sr

i guess it really depends on how u wunna go about it.....me personally i'd get the headfuck shit outta the way first

just remember what u want out of this vehicle at the end of it all....how u want it to perform, what u want in it and how u want it to look

which is the reason why i did my widebody so early....its the fuckin biggest headache.....now the rest is easy.....considerin i got my suspension all sorted out (unless something breaks of course)

if u wunna go sr20.....i'd 'suggest' (its merely a suggesion from my philosophy to building cars......and im not exactly a novice at it either)...... doin that first. why? cos finding a good engine with a good leak down and good compression test, and sortin out all the harness bullshit is gunna be a BIG HEADFUCK JOB.
plus its the 'heart' of ur car.....it'll determine alot of things. from weight distribution (if u want me to explain stuff like this ask it in the Q&A thread) to power delivery, to basically just plain ol' gettin it outta the way. its no point spending money on an engine that ur not using in the long run. just like its no point building a car unless ur in it for the long run.......

im just wondering, with your build. looks like u thought about the criteria and build process.....but who have u spoken to regarding all this?

if u have any problems......we're more than happy to contribute as im sure many members would love to share or learn with knowledge.
