topher grace? wow lol. wasnt venom like this big buff guy? or was he just like peter parker? i can swear on the cartoon, i cant remember the comics, that venom was beefy. I have been waiting for the venom movie. Hopefully there is a huge drawn out battle with lots of violence

yeah..althought maybe they changed the villain..Sandman is a definate but i'm sure how they are going to do Venom..i just read up on the history of Venom in the comic book and it looks in order for them to put Venom in the story they are going to have to butcher the original story pretty badly since Venom was actually the fusion of a alien suit given to spiderman and another human. idk its weird..but it'd be cool nonetheless

it doesn't have to always follow the comic or else we'd be already mislead in the first 25 minutes when he was bit by a genetically altered Super Spider rather than a Radioactive Spider, and his webbing was man made not by his wrists.


Either way I think that they are not going to kill off MJ because of her role (Dunst) and how it tends to keep Spidey going in the movie.

Either way don't forget about Curt Connors and his experimentation on adding his arm back and becoming the Lizard...so stay tuned for more confirmed news.

They might be doing the Gwen Stacey/Mary Jane role backwards. Dunst have said that after spiderman3, she no longer wish to continue her role as Mary Jane. So they might kill her off and have Gwen Stacey as his new love interest.

from what I read in a current Wizard (comics magazine... interview straight with Raimi and a good bit of production crew/cast) that they're def. going with the Gwen Stacy part, and that MJ and Peter may or may not stay together. They've already cast Bryce Dallas Howard as Gwen Stacy, and rumors have said something about the Black Cat/Felicia Hardy making an appearance, which would make for an interesting love triangle story bit... In the comics, Peter/MJ/Black Cat had a pretty interesting one too... Black Cat hated the Peter Parker side of Spidey, and would force him to wear his Spidey mask during sex... haha. Either way, Dunst's contract expires after this film... and there's a really good chance that they'll put Gwen Stacy into his life, and end it with MJ... Spidey 4 could have the death of Gwen Stacy, and Spidey 5 could have the return of MJ. who knows.

As for villans, Church is already cast... and no confirmation as to who he's playing at all. Church can only be one of two people, either the Sandman or the Chameleon. Even from Church's own mouth in response to his character role has said "He's a horse of many colors... Lets just say he's an amorphous collection of protons, electrons, and neutrons, of different colors." Who knows what the fuck that means.

As for Topher Grace... think two people, either Venom or Electro. Recently, Grace was spotted in Hollywood sporting lighter hair and told People Magazine it was for his big role in Spiderman 3. Both alter-egos of Venom and Electro (eddie brock and max dillon, respectively) have blonde hair. Grace fits the body profile of Max Dillon/Electro much more than he would Eddie Brock/Venom... who is a big, beefy, muscular body builder type. Of course, both Avi Arad (big Marvel guru and head of their movie dept.) and Raimi have both hinted that Grace may not be playing a villan at all. Both Arad and Raimi have hinted that he might be what comes between MJ and Peter, leading to Peters decision to go after Gwen Stacy.

Keep in mind that they left spider man 2 open, with a lot of plot leads. Harry found the Goblin stuff... and could return as the new Green Goblin. Also John Jameson's first voyage to the moon is what brings the alien symbiote Venom to earth, and is also what turns John Jameson into the Man-Wolf. So we might see Man-Wolf too. And even more, Parker's professor, Dr. Curt Connors, is the alter-ego of Spidey nemesis the Lizard. So he's an option as well.

The whole thing is one giant rumor mill... and frankly, that's the way Arad and Raimi like it. "There's a lot of fun in the guessing game," Avi Arad told Wizard.

if you look at the movie poster and you look into spider-mans eye... look closely anyone else see venom's profile in it or just me?

I think that they are going to introduce the new spidy suit and most likely at the end venom will make a quick cameo for the next movie..

Remember Spidey has the black suit for a little while in both the cartoon and the comic and he uses the suit, then the suit itself tries to turn spidey evil and take over his body.

there's something in that eye of his... but I dont think it's a profile of venom... not only would that be a little too obvious as to the villan, it looks more like steam or rain reflection.

Either way, Spidey will get the black suit. which definitely leads to venom at some point in the story line.... so with that you pretty much know you'll see venom somewhere... and you're right, it'll probably be late in the movie so venom can be the main antagonist in Spidey 4. That way spidey gets his time in the black suit (a 'la the comic books) and then it'll try to take him over, Parker will reject it, and it'll latch to eddie brock, venom.

i agree... they shoulda made it like the one in the comics... cause it was the symbiote, and it shouldn't be made of cloth with the same webbing as his old suit.


but, maybe they did it like that so that the people who didnt ever read Spidey comics (and the young ones who never had the chance) could understand it.
