v for vendetta

saw the movie last night... it was awesome!! loved it.

I read the comics back when I was younger, a number of years ago... they were really cool... so when I heard they weren't really sticking as close to the comic as they should have, and that the original writer of the V for Vendetta series, Alan Moore, had blacklisted the movie, I was skeptical. Moore was pretty pissed about previous movie adaptations of his work, such as League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and From Hell, both of which were pretty much garbage and Moore felt they didn't do his work justice... And felt that director Joel Silver (of the Matrix) was exploiting his name to promote the movie. Moore went as far as to demand a public apology from Silver, and also asked that DC Comics remove his name from all work he wrote for DC but does not own... such as Swamp Thing, V for Vendetta, Watchmen and more.

After all that controversy, I was getting pretty upset about it... I liked the original comics, and was pretty excited when I heard they were doing a film... but if the original writer is upset about it and distances himself from the project, what are the fans supposed to think??

But I went and checked it out last night... and damn, was I impressed!! And yeah, that's Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith of the Matrix) behind the mask...

V for Vendetta

Quote:
his visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-Ã*-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.
As some of you may of just guessed, I just saw this movie and was utterly impressed..I loved it. and I loved the message. all be it terrorism, i can relate

I would like to discuss this message, so now how about some intelligent opinions?
