CBR isn't worth is IMO. I've owned a 03 CBR RR, and 3 05 R6s. Yamaha is far more comfortable, nimble and balanced. CBR's seat is very small and hard, extremely angled when you compare it to Yamaha's, seats you very very aggressively. After being on R6, 600R, Ninja500, 636, Triumph daytona, gixxer600, I'd say CBR felt very smooth but its just not right...feels like something is missing. I don't know if its due to its ride height a little higher or taller gearing but I just can't get myself to like that bike again, even though I love its looks.
Btw, CBR1000RR has been at the very bottom ever since it came out. Out of all 4 major jap bikes that one's is last in almost ever category. I'm currently shopping for a Triumph Daytona myself.
Also if you are not a totall noob, I wouldn't recommend a katana at all. Only time bikes like Honda Hurricane, Honda CBR F3/F4i, Suzuki Katana, Kawasaki Ninja 250/500 etc. are good for you is when you are starting out and have a small budget. Even if budget wasn't a big issue its better to have a smaller, slower and older bike to learn on and then upgrade to appreciate the power and handling of a modern sportbike
