paranoid about showing off your car.
i have a big problem of showing off my car, not in a bad way or anything, but if you go to like meets and stuff, to show off your stuff in your car. i get kinda paranoid when thinking about it. though, i have never entered my car in a meet to show to people cause then i just think after like a week or two, someone will break into my car and take something! hmm i dunno if its just me or whats going on.

well when your living in a small city, its kinda hard to just.....display your car lol like i can understand a small town thing meet, cause you know everyone. but in a small city, you could have your car broken into..even if you have an alarm on your car, or even your car stolen! i'd like to keep my assets private lol and not show them off. but i mean if you do go to a meet, everyone is looking at your car, they're mostly all in awe over it, and you build up that self confidence.

my car isn't much to show off, but my system is. It freaking pounds when it wants to. That's why I have a factory headunit still and I only really bump it on the freeway and it get's turned almost all the way down when I enter parking lots.

I don't show off my car to ANYBODY. Don't ask me to pop my hood unless i REALLY REALLY REALLY know you or you have warrant signed by a judge. NY is full of theives. My car got broken into in my own damn drive way the same night I put my car alarm on. And the car was BONE STOCK. I mean really cmon what did you think you were gonna take. But I don't go to meets cuz you really dont know who is there scouting.

Ya know, I live in a small city. We have a local forum that all the 'racers' hang out on. Lately, a lot of peoples sh1t has been getting stolen. LIke, they'd get new stuff (performance parts or stereo) everyone would know, then it gets jacked. Then the other day a guy said he was gonna sell his cobra, and put an intersection where the car could be seen. That night it got stolen. Supposedly the po po's think it's linked to the website.
Id say...showing off your sh1t = sh1t getting stolen.

When i first got my civic i wouldnt show off anything... it was all secret...
Secret was i only had a AEM CAI.
I had fuckers coming up to me all the time asking about my turbo... Im like, are you serious?
Maybe it works out for you by hiding your mods, maybe they think you're FI or something fancy... or maybe they think because you dont show off your shit you have something fancy and so they're going to jack it.
Id just say invest in a webcam... thats what I did when someone fucked with my car once. I set up my little webcam pointed out my window and it captured pictures anytime something changed... so I had alot of cats and car pictures, but if anyone was to go infront of my car or touch it Id of seen it.
Granted maybe you dont have the luxery of having a window near or over looking your car.

The point is I dont know how many times ive seen sweet cars get stolen that are parked outside and people go why me. You might as well leave a stack of money outside and then see how long it takes before someone takes it. |
