Workin out while sick...
what up fuckers here's the thing...I have the common cold right now - sniffling runny nose and sore throat but no fever...should I go to the gym tonight or is it wiser to stay home and let it heal? cuz I've heard conflicting stories; some people say working out helps it pass and others say it just makes it worse and prolongs the cold...any help? thanks

oddly enough you don't get as ill if you work out, but if you do get a common cold it is recommend to just drink a lot of water

if your gym has one, hit the sauna. for me when im sick i dont even bother working out while sick. its not worth the agony when you're only gonna miss a couple days.

Should of IM'd me to ask.. but when you workout, your body heals and is going thru an elevated phase, so your immune system is actually weaker. Now those who workout often it makes their immune systems stronger, but the down side is if your sick, a weaker immune system due to working out only slows the healing process. Take time off until you feel better then hit the gym.
PEACE

Ya it is, when the pain isn't a cold. Like I said, when you are training your body is in a more vunerable state in terms of your immune system, this is why when healthy people who train have stronger immune systems if that makes sense. Now when your sick it weakens it even more so when you train its weaked x2. Just isn't worth it.
As a word of advice, anytime you really feel like shit, it's better you skip training just cause it isn't doing you or your body any good to train.
