that sucks buddy...it's shitty how stuff happens. you could use this as a spring board for the future with the b20 block though to make some good come out of it.

it sucks water up into the cumbustioin chamber. if the cylinder gets a lot of water in it (more than the volume of the combustion chamber only, which is usually ~30-40cc's) the water wont compress, and the piston is trying to go up and it just stops like your car slams into a brick wall. you gotta think, even at/near idle, the piston is going nearly 300mph, imagine your car slamming into a solid surface at those speeds, stuff bends.

yup, rods snap, you can put holes in pistons and cylinder walls, score the cylinder walls, ruin your head gasket, and a myriad of other really nasty things.
sucks man, it's a good thing you were able to get your b18 back, that must be a life saver. i hope that it's either an easy fix, or your b20 is in decent enough shape to part out the block and head etc.

actually.. i just ripped the head off the b20...seems like only the 3rd cylinder rod is bent... you can tell it hangs about 1-2 mm's lower
im guessing the crank is bent too...
the sleeves are still in great shape... surprising since i know the b20s are notorious for sleeves cracking under any kind of pressure

ok yesterday i slaved over the car from 7am - 12 am and i swapped all the motor parts to the b18 and got the engine in...all by my self
i still have alot of work to actually get it to turn on ...
sucks cause i only have a few hours to work today....because i cant call into work again..
today my goal is to make all the connections... get EVERYTHING hooked up.... and only have the fluids left to do

I just bought a hydrolocked GS-R today. Dropping the motor this afternoon and checking out the damage. I'm excited to have a newer car than my CRX.
