Question KYB AGX shocks any good? And What Setting?

Hello I was wondering if the KTB AGX adjustable shocks are good? Also what adjustment setting on the damper is a good one (both front and rear)? How long do these usually last? Anyone had any experience with these shocks?

Kyb are a good brand they make a reliable shock. There isnt one specific best setting for it Depends on what you find comfertable and for what you are going to use it for. But its a good shock. I have the kyb gas shocks on my teg R.I.P and they were good. not stiff but not too soft either. They took quite a beating from me for 2+ years and always begged for more.

The AGX is a good shock if you don't plan on dropping your car much (< 2")
They offer a stock-like ride with the ability to turn up the stiffness a bit, but they don't really get too hard.
My buddy has them with pro-kits on his Prelude and it rides like stock.

well the setup I was planning to go for were. some H&R sport springs and the AGX shocks 1.75in front and 1.5in rear. I heard that was a good setup. How does the damping system work though? What do the numbers mean? the fronts are adjustable 1-4 and the backs are 1-8.

I was going to leave this to someone with more personal experience with AGX's but I'll tell you what I do know...
The numbers represent how 'stiff' the damping gets. They are compression and rebound adjustable which means that as the numbers go up it gets harder and harder for the damper to compress and rebound to its original position. Your springs are going to play a bigger role in compression damping (good choice with the H&Rs by the way) but stiff rebound reduces the car's tendancy to "bounce" after a bump. It's more likely to just take the bump and hold tight to the road. Obviously you sacrifice comfort there but the performance aspect is that your tires stay on on the ground with maximum traction.
As far as which setting works best, you'll just have to play with it. #1 may be too bouncy for you, but #4/#8 may be too stiff...find where you're comfortable or adjust it per your driving needs.

There is some good mouse-over info here

I had them on my del sol but I was a cool mofo and dropped it 4 inches they lasted about 2 years daily driving then started to ride like shit (a friend took my car and ran from the cops in it and flew over a curb and landed had my bumper 4 inches in the ground but they still held up after that just kinda killed the life in them)
there great shocks and even lasted great being that low, and even on the stiffest setting the bumps arn't that bad (compared to being lowered on stock shocks)

I had them on a 5th gen accord, mated to Neuspeed sports... I kept them on the stiffest setting, and loved the ride. They didn't ride anything like stock (now granted, the Accord doesn't exactly have sport tuned shocks from the factory... at least not anywhere near like say, the prelude, or maybe the teg)

I'd buy them again... but would put something better on my S. for a Teg or Prelude, they're by far a great choice.
