where to find cheap ls motor? - Tuner-Junction

my bros timing belt snaped on his ls teg when his ex girl was driving it and he needs a new motor, he only has about 1g to work with.

where are some places to get a replacement motor?

ive checked ebay but all they have is the jdm shit and hmotorsonline has them for 2g's.

Hmotors sells the WHOLE SWAP for $2000. He only needs the longblock. Hmotors sells the longblock for $700. They have only the OBD1 (94-95) listed, but they also have the OBD2 motor for the same price. Also, they have the B20 motor (direct bolt in) for $600. They have the JDM B20B, make sure you get a 99 or newer if you go that route. Again, they dont have them listed, but they go have 99+ B20's.

The JDM 99+ B20 is called a B20B, but the USDM version is the B20Z. The B20Z is 146hp and like 135 ft/lb of tq. The B18B is 142/127, respectivly. If he plans on boosting, get a B18B. Otherwise, I would go for the B20Z.

In a few weeks ill have a B18B for sale, too. Not sure on a price yet.

yea, check your local junk yards. They will usually have atleast a few tegs that came with the LS

and i've seen LS blocks for like 100 bucks on craigslist.org.
a little more at the local junkyard, theyre a dime a dozen around here. good luck.

i found this place up in canada www.tigerjapanese.com but i dont know if they are good or not. any one heard of them before?
