false........... TBE completely removes the cat........ Anthony I really wouldnt worry about having a tbe for tickets. Its not like they can tell from looking without getting under the car....... keep the factory set up..... it takes 30 min at the most under a car on four jackstands to wrench of the TBE and put on the factory for emissions, tickets etc. I think your looking a bit to much into omgzors the cops and tickets blah blah.. It all comes down to, you pay to play.. Most of the cat back exhausts are just as loud as most TBE.....So when around a cop if your that worried stay out of the throttle and shift and low rpms. Its really that simple. You are way to paranoid my friend. Many Wrx/sti owners get away with it......You can too

he's in cali though, not the middle of cornfields. I got a modified exhaust ticket in my accord sitting at a stop light one afternoon

ok...IF you want to keep it quiet for the cops in your town..Y dont you get the super sleath tbe from turbo xs..the only thing you dont change is the axle back..you will feel a diference in power and you wont get in trouble by the cops....here check it out..http://fastwrx.com/tursuptursys.html...

or just buy the tbe system and dont change your rear section it will be cheaper for you..to buy this then buy a rear section later..

Thats a great idea..................BUT it bottle necks the exhaust flow into the old restrictive part. Your back at square one sorta...... Idk its up to anthony..... He could still just keep the rpms low and stay out of the throttle........Why wouldnt that work Fraz, its not like its a 4inch or 5inch TBE and its loud no matter what you do.

seriously it ups to him...actually it doesnt resticte anything..the turbo xs tbe thers 2 to chose one with the mangaflow muffler which has a 2.5 inch axle back(same as stock jsut a better muffler)...or you can get the one with the 3inch axle back wiht the titanium muffler...and the test turbo xs did witht he tbe with the 2.5 inch axle back..the car gained 26awhp....soo really its up to anthony..he get a full 3inch tbe and jsut keep the rpms low which is wut i do wen there are cops around..never got pulled over with the wrx...or he can do what i said and get a tbe n jsut not chagne teh axle back..

after readin all this, and talking with ben(thank you sir), im just gonna save up and do it the right way. it sounds amazing if any of you downloaded the sound clip i posted, it looks great, and it is what will make me happy. thank you folks for your continuing persuasion.

'I was saying that about the stealth TBE. Its still restrictive compared to a straight flow muffler that would come with a COMPLETE TBE not stealth... Thats what i had ment.....and 2.5 on a TURBO car is a no no. 3inch or better should be standard factory 2.5 chokes the car quite a bit.
