issues and thoughts - Tuner-Junction

so i've got a 1992 Civic CX its got a D15B7 block with a D16Z6 Vtec head.. and i was wondering if anyone knows if it would mess anything up if i put a turbo on it or what all would i have to do ..... a friend told me i'd have to get about a thousand dollars worth of stuff beforei could put a turbo on it..... like aboost controller etc. any help is appreciated .... thanx

How much power are you looking for? And be realistic because my answer will change depending on how much you need.
