K series 5spd can be converted to 6spd.....easily
So I have heard a lot of people do K swaps say they need to get the RSX Type S becasue they want the 6spd transmission. Makes sense, especially since my K24 in my Element sucked with the 5spd.
Then I just read this little thread.......
http://www.elementownersclub.com/for...ad.php?t=25576
I had no idea the transmission can accept the RSX Type 6 six gear!! There's room for it, instead of a gear Honda tossed some spacers in there instead. This is great info. Anyone doing a K24 swap (maybe going turbo or SC) can just add a 6 gear to there trans. The parts are under $300- and the trans is out of the car during the swap anyway.

wow, good find john. $300 for an extra gear will pay for itself in gained gas mileage over time.

that really is pretty badass......
too bad the dude didn't do a full write-up or make any diagram markings on the pics, so you could see which gear was which.

I think it's the same scenario on the EF hathback 4 speed. Honda threw in a spacer instead of a 5th gear.
Good find!!

This is true too.
Is it the same for the RSX?

idk, typicaly 6 speeds will have slightly tighter gears 1-5 then a slightly longer 6th than the 5th of the 5spd
I just know the ef thing because I got owned when I thought I was putting another 5spd in the rex but found out it was a 4spd when I went to go to work
