Model year differences for Honda Element
Anybody know where I can find this info? I'm starting to look at picking an Element up...just want to see if I should try to save money on an older model or if I should be looking for a specific year (Everything from powertrain changes to 'better cupholders' and stuff like that)
Thanks

Umm...B20? Umm...Stick or manual?
Come on guys! has anybody gone through the research on these?
I'm seeing that side airbags were available in 2005. That's a start.
I want exterior/interior color pairings, options made available year to year, etc.

Yep, I know it's a K24. And I know it comes in auto or manual. Thanks. I guess I'll just keep bumping until an Element owner runs into this.

talk to misterjover, he got one last year i believe.
also, i know you are prolly set on the element, and it looks sick, but what about the mazdaspeed 3? 23k gets you 260 hp, 280tq and a damn good looking automobile.

You bring up a great example of why I want the element. I'm basically looking for an off-road capable, practical car. The WRX wagon used to be at the top of my list but I'm too scared I'd want to tune it and that kills the practicality. Same thing with that mazda 3...if it's too performance oriented I'll end up tuning it and then I can't take it camping/snowboarding/off-roading.
I plan on keeping the civic, finishing it as an SM car for Solo and maybe trailering it to some big tracks behind the element.
And yes i'll ask Egan....oh EEEEEEEGAAAAAANnnnn....

Actually the color match ones are called "EX-P"
I'm looking for all the gorey details. Have you guys seen the chart for every civic from like 1988 up? It has a row for each trim level of each model with engine code, stats, body styles, options available, etc. That's what I'm looking for here.
Or little tips like "2005 was the first year with side airbags and the plastic body panels were black instead of grey"
or (and I don't know if this is true) "After a few rollovers in 2003 honda widened the track width and beefed up the rear sway bar to 25mm for 2004"
stuff like that.

I had a 2004 EX 5spd.......
- All have K24
- EX AWD has better seats (material), stereo, rear sunroof, wheels, tinted windows (maybe some other stuff but it's minor)
- non-AWD doesn't have the rear sunroof
- 5spd only came out on the AWD model in 2004 (that's why I bought mine)
- 5spd was available on 2wd from the first model year
- EX-P came out in 2006 with body colored plastic panels
- I could chirp 3rd gear in mine

- prior to 2005 side air bags were an option
I sold mine with 24K for 17500-
Not much else you need to know. Buy a 5spd EX AWD!!! there the best ones

Now I know to only look at 2004+

I used to piss on Scion Xbs My little Element was pretty damn quick. Faster than my CRX was with the old D engine in it. I also topped mine out at 121mph with 3 people in it. Believe it or not it didn't handle that bad for a big box either. I mean it was no Lotus Elise, but I definitely surprised the shit out of some people!!
There was actually one at the auction today. I didn't get that close to it but if you are serious I could locate one for you and get you a good deal. PM me with what your price range is and I'll tell you if it's feasible.
