Is jdmenginescorp.com good...?????????
If you've read my other posts you know I'm shopping for the 3-stage Vtec engine which brings me to my question. Is www.jdmenginescorp.com a good place to buy from? It is one of 2 places that carry the engine I want...the other one I forgot to bookmark .

I'm looking for the JDM D15b 3-stage Vtec OBD2 from 96-00 civics. It's the only 3-stage vtec motor I've heard of...but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I also forgot to mention I emailed Nippon-motors as well. They have the engine but it would be a little over a grand with no tranny, and that was with shipping to a business address (considering I would need residential shipping).

dude i ordered my motor from steve..he was straight up with me, he was thinking the same way as i was too. cause he didnt want no BS. when he got my cheque in the mail, he got my motor ready, he did 5 things while getting the motor ready.
1. choose the best one out of the bunch he had.
2.compression tested it.
3. lead down tested it.
4. pressure washed it CLEAN!!!
5. ............sat down and had a beer after lol
but when i got this engine, it was sealed and wrapped to the nine! nothing damaged on the motor, he even took off the tps sensor and wrapped it seperately so it wouldnt get dmg during shipping like most tps sensors do!.

Well Hmotors definitely sounds like a good place...I'm not gonna argue that...what I'm saying is the reply to my email said they could not get the motor I wanted. Unless you are implying this Steve guy could pull some strings and maybe the person replying to my email just didn't want to deal with a special request???

i dunno but you also have to put into consideration that he gets motors from japan and they have about 35k on them. its just better to phone him and talk to him. tell him what you want and ask him if he'll pull strings or what ever. if you can tell him where you seen this motor that you want.

Well...to answer my own question...I don't think jdmenginescorp.com is so good. I was looking through google results on them and found a link to ebay. It appears many import engines on ebay are sold through this company and from the feedback it seems they are sporatic in the quality of their packaging. Some had dented up motors whereas others had no probs. Considering I've had bad luck with the mail carriers around here...I'll check with HMO by phone and keep searching.
