Pretty straight forward install. I was suprised.

Preface:
Here are the measurements i found on Honda-tech a while back. Jadkar confirmed them on his CRX.

1. I started by printing out the measurements i had and putting them next to my car.

2. Take some masking tape and layout the measurements on your car. The old saying about "measure twice and cut once" applies here.

3. Cut it out pretty far from the edges. I started by drilling a hole and using a dremmel cut off wheel to cut it to rough shape.

4. Take a razor blade and cut around the lines to get rid of the extra tape. I then used a combination of sanding drums and a router type bit to get it to size.

5. One thing i noticed was you can make the hole much smaller if you take the small tabs off the side. So i used the dremmel to get rid of them. Much easier and since i had only put 1 new scratch in my car so far, i figured i'd quit pushing my luck. The one on the right has the tab taken off. There is also a small tab in the front that i took off.

6. Use some touch up paint to cover the newly exposed metal.

7. Put in the sidemarker and admire your work while taking a break.

8. Now the wiring. I started off by taking a wire coat hanger and detangling it into 1 long piece of metal rod. Then taped the wire to it.

9. Carefully thread the wire through the hold in the fender up towards the front. (have the corner light out before doing this)

10. When i installed mine i bought new corners that only needed one bulb. You can splice them in but i've HEARD (not sure) that it effects the timing on them. On my setup i just cut the socket that i don't need (the one with 2 wires).

11. Then wire the wires to the exposed wires from the socket. (yes, i used way too heavy of a gauge of wire)

12. When i took my sidemarkers out of the package i knew i recognized the connectors but couldn't figure it out. Asked my dad and he laughed and said they're motorcycle connectors and to go to my aunt's and steal some off a parts bike. If you don't want to cut the connectors off, this is deffinatly an option.

13. Just connect the connectors (or the wires depending on how you did it) and check if it works.

Enjoy.

Does DIY also apply for the 99-00 Civic as well?

generally, yeah. I'm sure placement/shape is different and maybe even wiring.. so maybe it's not at all the same. I have no idea what the 99-00 ones even look like but my brother just put some on his 97 GSR and it was pretty much the same.
