Inputs on Redline M90 or GM Syncromesh
Anyone have any inputs one of the fluids for the trans? I'm getting ready for a flush and would like to see what TJ has to say about them before deciding.
TIA.

I use Pennzoil Synchromesh (same as the GM but cheaper)...its not bad and makes the tranny a little smoother.

I just put Redline oil in my CRX and it doesn't seem to be doing well. My Spoon LSD is chattering all over the place I'm probably going to put syncromesh back in.

^^I was also looking into that also. I was leaning toward one of those prodocs since i've heard it helping people with grinding. I get this grind only high RPM going in to 3rd.
Thanks for your input.

that sucks john redline syn MTF isnt working for you.....I have Gm sychromesh in my rsx S right now...I wasnt paitent enough to wait for redline to be shipped. If it was good enough for the z06 it was good enough for me.....But Ive never had a issue with redline syn MTF.

u guys should try motul's line. redline isnt really preferred here, we get the same problems as you john. also for tranny fluid shockproof is a no go.

i used honda tranny fluid for a long time and it worked fine...
i switched to sychromesh recently.. and the gears seem to be engaging a little smoother on fast down shifts
but 3rd gear grind is still there... maybe a little worse

actually if ur synchro IS pretty much on its last legs. u may as well use redline shockproof.
dont use it on sound tranny's. motul is ur FAR better choice

I was thinking, how much of the third gear grind is caused by engine movement? My car does it too and i was wondering if solid engine mounts would help any. I do need to change my tranny fluid cause i think the same stuff's been in there for like 6 years. I need an electric impact wrench, i tried getting the drain bolt off with just a 1/2 inch breaker bar and it started to strip and bent the metal on the inside of the hole so i stopped. If i ever can replace the fluid, i think i'll fill it with the syncromesh. I might take it to a shop, so if they strip out the head of the drain bolt, they'll have to buy me a new one.

Thanks too all TJ have not been her in a while! This thread has good info. was thinking about putting it in parts review for those thinking about flushing didn’t see one for trans fluid.
When driving normal going into 3rd it is fine with no grinds, It's only at high (8k) RPM will it grind. And sometimes not at all . I think ill be trying one of the Synchromesh first and see if it helps and then try what KevlarRUN recommends’.
I will also be using Honda ATF for the ATTS this will be a fun project.
