phearable p28 questions
Well, as some of you know i finally got my obd1 conversion done. Got the wiring done, all the wires tucked up and out of the way and the car fired perfectly after 4-5 cranks. Horray. Only issues i'm having right now are with the ecu.
Phearable chipped it/socketed it/auto->manual converted it. Runs perfect, no CEL's but the program they burnt doesn't seem to have the options i outlined. I'm really new to this and it's a completely new setup on my car so i wasn't going to point fingers until i knew it was deffinatly the wrong program. It was supposed to be:
2-step: 3000
CEL shift light: 7200
Rev Limit: 7600
I've had the car to 8000 rpm according to the tach and have been shifting around 7500 just playing around lately. All 3 of those things seem to be MIA. I know the CEL isn't burnt out because i've seen it when i switched the car on.
Only thing i don't have wired up on the conversion harness is the 2 wires to a toggle switch that have to be jumped to flash the CEL codes, the one wire knock sensor and the wire for GSR butterflies (d-series of course doesn't have it). None of that should matter though and there is no CEL's, car is running perfect and very strong. It isn't a huge deal for me, BUT i always like having cool little features like these on my car and one of the main things i was looking forward to was having a shift light. Plus, i'm kinda scared of what the rev limit might actually be..

Im not very good with ecu's but you should call them back and find out if they program was burned correctly or maybe it was an oversight.

if it were a bad chip or something went wrong in the burning process. There would be more wrong that the advanced features not working.
Just talk to John. He has great customer service.

Okay, update. I talked to John a while ago and basically, vtec is set at 5300 and rev limit at 7600. I dunno because last time i was at the track i was shifting at 7500 on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts.
No CEL shift light or 2-step because i have a p28 base map and those features aren't supported? Can't you use a p30 bin with p28 maps and still get those features on a p28 ecu? Either way, i'm not very happy because i passed up 2 shift lights at swap meets over the summer that were both $20 because i'd thought i'd have one when i went obd1. Ugh. It would of been kinda nice to know this ether before i ordered or even after..

because all the advanced features like MIL shift light and 2-step are based off p30 code. If you have a chip burner or know a friend who has one, you can easily fix this by copy and pasting your tables into a p30 bin. Then u just open advanced features and set your numbers.

Yeah, i know no one with a chip burner local
I'm obviously going to either buy one or an ostrich eventually, just wasn't planning on it yet. I like making small changes so i like the ostrich idea but you can burn a lot of chips for the price difference... oh well, not doing that yet so don't need to make up my mind.
