D1 screwing a friend over....

im posting this in regards to one of our friends on ziptied. he is the guy who recently came first place in D1GB (Great Britain). he's the lead driver of Driftwerks (s14a) and is a part of -nightspirit family-

basically im copying/pasting to get the word out there.

If you want to read the whole official line it's here: http://www.driftworks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24325 but to shorten it down it goes something like this:

NRG events decide to run the professional level championship in Europe this year. D1 corp request partnership, ask for it to be called D1GB (D1 Great Britain).
In exchange for the event running under the D1 banner, they offer to send over top level Japanese D1 drivers to judge, and for the top 5 finishing drivers of the championship to have cars shipped, and teams flown to Irwindale this December for an all stars shootout fully paid for by D1 Corp.
So the championship ends, I finish in first place and we wait to hear from D1 as to when the cars have to be prepped for shipping. after a large amount of unaswered phone calls and e-mails, D1 corp then communicate that they will no longer be honouring their part of the deal, and if we still want to drive in the all star match we have to pay for everything ourselves... This is not an option, we put everything we had into this championship in an attempt to finish top 5 and come to the US, there is absolutely no budget for shipping the car and flying the team over..

I know that you guys in the US have had your run ins with D1, but experiencing first hand just how dishonourable these people are has really taken us by supprise. Needless to say those of us that finished top 5 are more than a little pissed. I'd really like to see the D1 try to come back here for a 3rd UK exhibition match!

and for those that know who "Lorin" is. he's pretty familiar with the guys who operate D1,

"Sorry to say if they can fuck you they wil. They akso fuck the drivers and sponsers if they can. But hey as lobg as they are paying their taxes the Jap goverment wont say shit. THey have done this exact thing to the drivers from Japan going to the states.

Was any of this in the contract for the event. Is there anything in writing to state this, By chance if you have it in writing you can maybe get a refund on your expences from them threw a court order. Your state department would have to contact their consulate in Japan and they would seek a judjment from the court."

*******************************

basically im tryin to get the word out of another example of the bullshit that goes on that has been goin on for so long with D1. but go figure

haraguchi ftw.
