12th Mar '06 Drag Meeting
hey all... my pop and uncle took the chassis car out this weekend for a stretch of the old legs...our main track which is a 1/4 mile track has been closed for about 3 months now, and we probably wont see anymore racing until August later this year....we entered into a surprisingly strong comp with prize money totalling 20k...going against some big dollar and power cars, we ran a best 6.55 on a 1/8mile track....i took a few pics while i wasnt busy helping out as crew...

this is 1 of our cars we brought out for the meeting...it's a 302 stroked 347 windsor to be exact...

we came up against this firebird later in the knockout rounds...we lost...he dialled in a 6.99 and we dialled in a 6.55 (we ran in qualifying)...he had the handicap and had a almost perfect .503 reaction time....we caught him before the line and thinking we were going to brake out, backed off just letting the blown bird cross the line first with a 7.1....and we ended up crossing the line .2 of a second slower than our dialled ET...damn! oh well thats what you get for not knowing the track very well as it was our first time there...

its not the main track in my state....it was actually built by the locals of the area who work/run the steel works out that way (4hrs drive from the city)...everything u see on that track was *cough* free...lol
