1/4 mile calculator :)

Hey, I'm kinda bored and I know these thing are just basically for fun. BUT....... of the 4 or 5 cars that I knew the tested 1/4 time, when I entered them in the calulator it was damn close!!!

So I figured I'll try mine out

at 2550lbs (Rio + me) and 280whp (since I uped my boost) my time equals......

12.164 ...... which is exactly around where everyone said.

Now, if Karen was driving it would be .......
2450lbs and 280whp equals......
12.003 (basically 12 flat)

Now I can't wait to go to the track

what's really funny is to play with weight on those things. 2350-2400 pounds with 130hp says around 16.1-16.2 which is actually where i ran with my car not too long ago. 2000 pounds? It'd be around 15.2.

I hate not having official figures for stuff though. I just threw in 2900 pounds and 400hp and it said 11.88 which is pretty close to what my dad's car runs. Those are just estimates of figures though. I'm going to make him throw it on the scale next time they have them open at the track.

I've had this bookmarked for a while: http://www.dragsource.com/index.php?...ct=calculators There is a ton of calculators there for pretty much anything. Historically the trap speed -> hp is more accurate than ET because trap speed is fairly consistant. I've seen 5 tenths variation in ET and it was less than a 1 mph difference in the trap speed.

i think the calculator is off. When i ran a 15.5 i weighed my car at the track and it weighed 2250 + 150(me) and at the time i made 147whp. the calculator says i should have ran a 14.8. I guess the calculator calculates ET if you have an awesome 60' like 2.0 and under. io wish the calculator would also estimate 60' times.

I'm sure it also takes into consideration nearly ideal conditions. Great driving, track prep, weather, everything. Either way, a calculator is just a rough guess, no substitute for a real timeslip.
