I've seen this before but not with medical illnesses. My friends Quad Core DL585 server he "borrowed" from work is running something like this called "seti" and he's searching for aliens....no shit Quad 2800 processors with 64gig of memory sitting there looking for space invaders!!

this guy in one of my classes last semester suggested the SETI thing.

I read over the site and from what I saw they have your computer processing radio signals received from outer space on their dishes for any semblance of intelligence (as opposed to random gamma bursts etc)

same principal tho you dl their software and then you process their data in your downtime.
