I just went out and bought a new slim PS2 yesterday... i'm surprised at how fucking small that thing is....

but anyway... I'm really looking forward to playing this game... the store I bought the system at was all sold out... apparantly it came out recently.

I've just been a huge fan of FF7, and I know this game is gonna give up a lot of storyline, so even if it's not a spectacular game, I'm gonna enjoy it because of the story.

anyone played it yet?

I dunno how good a FF7 game is gonna be when they leave the RPG style and I never really liked Vincent

Besides I still have to Finish Star Ocean Till the End of Time, Dragon Quest VIII, Kingdom Hearts II and replay Final Fantasy VII (missed a sidequest)

Plus starting Monday I'm back in school full time so my recreational time will be gone daddy gone for a while

I dunno... it looks pretty badass. And Square is pretty good at doing things other than RPGs... so I think it'll turn out well.

I haven't played it yet, but I picture something very similar to say... Devil May Cry crossed with like, Time Crisis or Contra or something like that....

I dunno, I can't wait to play it... the screenshots I've seen are just so badass... check out IGN about the game.

hahahahaha I played that shit at best buy a few weeks back and I suck ass at it... it didn't feel anything like playing an actual guitar. I think I'll stick with my Strat.

hahaha, no. DDR? I'm WAY too uncoordinated for that shit.

but yeah, I did pick up this game two days ago... and holy fucking shit, am I impressed. It just plays so fucking well. shitloads of fun... I'm having a little trouble keeping up with the storyline... I mean, I'm only into the third chapter, but either it's not as interesting as I'd thought it be, or some really good shit hasn't happened yet.

they're just starting to tell a lot about Lucrecia, which is kinda cool cause they never said much about her in FF7.

otherwise, it's just kinda a bunch of new stuff... new enemies and whatnot.

but it's still a fun ass game to play... Vincent is definetly a badass.

haha, damn straight!!

so yeah, I spent all fucking day yesterday at the station playing this game... from 8am to 7pm... I made it to the final fight and turned it off, to give myself something to do tomorrow.

What the final fight is... will blow you away....

and honestly, if you've been keeping up with the FF7 storyline (original game, FF7AC, and this DoC) then you're gonna be amazed at this game too. Two HUGE things... while I won't give away any of it... let me tell you this... what they tell you about the existence of Cait Sith puts the whole storyline into a different point of view, and makes his actions in the original game make a whole lot of fucking sense. Personally, I hated Cait Sith and never used him cause he was a prick and fucked around too much... but now, he sort of brings the whole story together. They never blatantly say what it is I'm talking about (and since I dont want to spoil it, I'm not gonna say it either), but they use the exact same wording, and if you've seen the AC movie, you'll know immediately.

The other thing... is that in the whole grand scheme of things, with the planet... and Jenova and Sephiroth wanting to 'surf the cosmos' with it or some shit... Cloud and Sephiroth aren't shit compared to Vincent... I know, that's a huge thing to say... but trust me... his conflict is on a much larger scale.

Aside from that... the storyline helps to fill in a lot of holes they didn't explain well in the original FF7... things between Vincent, Lucrecia, and Hojo...

it's so crazy... and if you're a big fan of game like I am... you're gonna love the story and enjoy playing the game.

Now, ignoring the storyline and what it did for the FF7 saga... the game itself is kinda bland. It's very entertaining and incredibly fun though... There's a lot of really cool stuff in it... but there's not much depth to it. Run around, shoot shit... blow stuff up... while it's got a few, it's lacking in choices as to weapons and character customization... there aren't very many different paths to take, either... making the game fairly linear.

I was kinda pissed that there's only three Materias you can use... Fire, Lightning, and Blizzard... why no Ultima, or summon materia... or whatever? oh well.

That, and of the two seconds of the last battle I played... there's one other thing that is REALLY gonna make me angry if I go sit down and finish it tomorrow and I can't do it... I'm gonna be furious. But I'll let in on that one later, so as not to spoil it for anyone who's playing and hasn't gotten there yet.

Once I finish it... I'm gonna make an FF7 spoiler thread... so we can talk about the storyline... cause it's one of my favorite stories.

you dont need to see AC to enjoy the game, or for it to fill in a lot of stuff for you about the first game...

but seeing AC is kind of a must to really understand the whole scope of things in the saga.
