Why the PS3 is cheap
So from what I have heard the PS3 is going to offer free online, BluRay, wireless controller, and a 60 GB HD....all for 600...that is cheap.
Now I have an Xbox 360, and I love it (well sort of at least) but I paid $400 for:
Wireless Controller
HD Cables
20 Gig HD
Head Set
That's what you get for $400
now if I want HD DVD, it's probably going to be another $199, and their larger HD will be another $99....oh yeah, gotta pay for Xbox Live Gold ($49), and last but not least the $99 wireless dinger to play games on live wirelessly
400+199+99+49+99 = $849
Sony will top that for $599
case closed

There is a post in the video games forum that says that the one for $499 lacks

Moved.... WE have a video game section for a reason.
If compared to the xbox 360 it is a better deal. But the xbox360 just seemed like a waste of money to me. Rushed, and not a big improvement over xbox.

problem is he never substatiated his info.
When I posted in the what's the story with the ps3 thread I posted links to articles so far he hasn't done that and quite frankly it's a bit hard to believe that there is going to be free online.
I can believe that online capability will be included in the $599 system but we will still have to pay a monthly subscription fee for online access.

ps3 is going to have free online game play check out ign.com and its on g3 on tv right now talking about it, they also re-did the controllers and are not going with the gay boomerang shape
ps3 and wii are going to kill the 360

Ya dog you are right he should have posted some kind of source for his info. I can believe the online will still be free since it always has been for sony. (already confirmed a few post up). And im glad they kept the controller unchanged that thing is so comfy. The only other controller that i can remember being this comfy was the dog bone snes controller. That thing just felt right. The ps2-3 controller everything is where it should be and im glad it stayed that way.
