What Tires are you rolling on?
I just recently bought a set of Toyo Proxe T1-Rs (195-50 R15). They have been the best set that I have purchased yet. They hug the ground and I just love taking me some sharp turns with them. They put a little dent in my pocket but I got a really good deal. Cost was $420 but I paid $380. Just wondering what you guys are using and how they are working out for you.

When I'm cornering on the edge, my car actually has controllable oversteer. Kinda fun.

They look great stacked up in my garage
No seriously, I only have 150 miles on them (car is still being built). But 50 of those miles were in the rain and I can tell you the wet weather traction rocks!! Supposidly, they have really great dry weather and equally as impressive wet weather drivablity. This is huge for me because for some reason I'm always getting stuck in a surprise rain storm I can't wait until I can compare them to my own reigning "king of the hill"..... Bridgestone S03 Pole Positions
BTW..the tread pattern is sick!!

Federal 595 in 205/45/R16
Quote:
The SS595 is Federal's international ultra-high performance tire, developed for flagship sports cars requiring flat-out performance as well as excellent riding comfort. While Federal's latest fundamental tire technology, TTIC, gives you smoother, faster and safer driving, the newly developed M.P.O. (Magnify Performance Optimization) technology also offers the driver a more consistent performance not just when new but throughout the whole life of the tire.
-Flange protector protects alloy rims from curb damage
-Hexiform bead profile efficiently locks tyre onto wheel rim
-Opti-noise technology for a quiet ride
-Uni-directional tread pattern.

My tires are the same way, they cut through water like a hot knife through butter. I have tried many times to hydroplane my car and it hasn't worked yet.

I love my tires in the rain also. I have trouble hydroplaning and loosing traction in the rain. With the setup I had before I could hardly shift into first without loosing traction.

I've been on Mastercraft Avenger ZHP's for about a year and a half now. They are a really great affordable 3-season UHP tire, made by Cooper...I have been pleasantly impressed.
Tires I have had:
Dunlop SP9000 205/45/R16
Loud and hard; stuck well but could have been the width. These sucked in the rain - I remember spinning the tires in 2nd in the rain when vtec hit LAME
Toyo Proxes-4 205/45R16
Great tire - quiet, softer, got pretty squishy on the track but they are more of a UHP Street tire. These did better in the rain than the Dunlops.
Mastercraft Avenger ZHP 195/55 R15
Best all around and cheaper than the Toyos. I got these for $89/tire. they have surprised me with their ability to stick like the Toyos on a smaller wheel, AND they have done perfectly in rain and snow. If I can find these again they will be my next set as well.

Currently running on Dunlop FM901's. Ok DD tires. Soft sidewall for auto-x. I have no idea what I'll try next. Hankooks or Falkens will probably be next.
