Car wont start...help.

Ill try to list the major stuff of what might be related or possible to the problem and fixing it!
'90 crx
ls/vtec
Turbo'd
Hondata
Walbro 255

The car typically sits through the summers, its too hot in Florida to drive around with no a/c. Every once in a while Ill go out start it up drive it around the block, Ill admit only happens once every couple months. I always have to jump the battery but it ALWAYS fires right up.

Sep/Oct. '09. After having sat for probably 6 months. Put my key in the ignition, and it wouldnt turn?!?!?! Fought with it for like 20 minutes till finially it turned. Spun it back and forth a few times, pulled it in and out, turned fine after that, really weird. So I jumped it, drove it, parked it. I will note, the gas tank was LOW. I remember noticing it when I got back to the house and parked it, made a mental note to get gas in a portable container and throw a few gallons in there before I drove it again, because it was low enough to where I thought I might not make it to a gas station.

First two weeks in Jan 2010. We had the coldest weather this part of florida has seen in 10 years. 2 weeks of lows in the upper 20's and highs in the 40's.

Middle of Jan. 2010. Lows in the 50's highs in the 60/70's. Bought 2 gallons of 91 octane, same as always. Put it into the tank and went to crank it up. No go. Car cranks and feels like it sort of "catches" once in a while, but never actually gets running. Did that almost "catching" thing twice. Left scratching my head. Decided to come back with more gas just in case. Also pulled the battery and put it on a charger for two days to bring it back to full charge.

End of Jan. 2010(present) Came back with another 2 gallons. Registering just under half a tank on the guage. I know for sure there is enough fuel. Car cranks (you hear the chugga-chugga from under the hood), but it never feels like it wants to "catch" and fire up. Tried this many, many, many times. Left if cranking for a solid minute. I can smell the fuel. I can hear the pump prime. Im sure its flooded as all heck at this point. So, gas pedal to the floor, cranked it another minute to try and clear out the excess fuel. Also to note, the battery came back to full charge, but I still had jumpers on it just to make sure.

So now this is what I've ALREADY done.
I havnt been able to get a helper yet to pull the plugs and actually check for spark. But...
I have a back up known working distributer that I swapped out to test. Same song and dance with a known working distributer.
Removed the main relay.(it passed the audible click test while in the car, but I wanted hard proof)Jumped it out per the guides and checked for continuity, passed all three tests.

So.
Distributer is okay
Main relay is okay.
Fuel pump is okay.

Im assuming that Im not getting spark. Again till I get a helper I cant verify 100% on that yet. Does anyone have any great Ideas?

I was thinking maybe the Ignition switch? Read somewhere if your key gets worn down the car wont start? But was confused if maybe they just meant it wont turn the cylinder, which its doing now just fine.

My other thought it moisture in the fuel. Which is maybe why it tried to start twice but couldnt. I would think though, 4 gallons of fresh fuel in a near empty tank would kind've take care of what little moisture may be present. Dont know though.

Any ideas, please help! Thanks.

you have to check for spark. Anything else I say may be a waste until you check spark. Where in FL are you? I just drove back from Florida yesterday. If you were near Orlando I could have taken a look

I will say if you have no spark ..... igniter / dizzy maybe. Also could be your main relay, they are known to go bad.

I feel dumb. Always remember to go SUPER simple before going nuts about something. I got a helper. Went over and pulled a plug to test spark. Thats when i noticed that the plug looked like CRAP. We tested it for spark and it WAS sparking, just not at the electrode. Swapped out the 4 plugs with fresh plugs. One turn of the key later the car was running. Fired right up like always. lol. Oh well. Im happy now.

Oh John, Im in St. Augustine. I imagine you were coming up 95. Would've been like a 5 minute trip from 95 to the car....Next time...

And you probably rolled right through Atlanta on your way home. Jeez man, what an ass. roadtrips should be plainly laid out with members in mind, John. :*(***

Nick, you should slam your head in a door a few times Thats one of the things I was going to say try. With boost comes more resistance to spark. So a nostart with a turbo, the FIRST thing to check is plugs. Next time, right?
