I ran into every single kind of problem you can imagine.
So it turns out that you have to have every single emissions component from the donor car. I ended up buying a lot of parts and wiring them all in. EVAP purge control solenoid, charcol canister, etc.
Another issue is that the ECU must match the engine that's going in. I had the b18c, and had to get a new PR3 ecu. Also, couldn't have any ECU modifying devices either (hondata, vafc, etc).
After i finally got all the parts needed to get it smogged, i was failing the tailpipe emissions.
In theory, it's pretty simple. You take everything you have from the donor car, and throw it all into the swap. Then you make sure it passes the tailpipe and you're good to go.
It's always those little things that screw you.
If anyone is interested in doing this themselves, don't hesitate to call the referee and ask them for help. These guys are usually pretty cool. If you end up with an A-hole, just find a different ref.
