What's wrong with the b16a? What do you want to gain?

Personally, I'd build the b16. You have a near-perfect rod-stroke ratio in that block, all you need to do is let it breathe. Re-mapping that ecu will make a pretty huge difference too. Check out www.pgmfi.org for the experts on the hows and whys.
If you end up going turbo with it, I definitely want to see some pictures.
The b20vtec is a torquey choice, but you'll lose some control because of the (comparatively) peaky powerband. Also, longevity will suffer because it's very oversquare (1.54:1 rod-stroke ratio, compared to the b16's near-perfect 1.74:1 ratio).
If you're looking for more torque, you could always just sleeve the b16, as well. I don't recommend that, but it's always an option.
Either way, good luck, and take lots of pictures!

I am, and probably always will be an obd0 tuner. obd0 is more straightforward and inexpensive than obd1 to tune, and the open-source community strongly supports it. Either way, damned cool project; I highly support it!
