Pooch1069 finally getting his JDM front end!?
Well here's the story...
I went to the Lamborghini dealership near my house to test drive the new LP640 Murcielago (we know the guy who owns the dealership) and it was epic. Then on the way home, now in my CRX, I was driving the speed limit because the bar was set so high with the Lambo that I best not even try to get excited about my car. At anyrate, this lady in a Hyundai goes into the middle lane to turn left across Ogden (4 lane street) but when a minivan deciedes to go in the middle lane oncoming the bitch swerves back into my lane and slams on the brakes. My poor Axxis Ultimates didn't have a chance. Well here's the damage:
It could've been worse. But it was clearly her fault and I believe I may be able to capitalize on insurance. Either way I won't be getting rid of the car now. The first thing I said to my buddy in the passanger seat; "OH HELL YEAH DUDE! I'M GETTIN A NEW FRONT END!"
-----------
April 25th, 2007
Ordered a carbon fiber sunroof through visionmotorworks.com

$225 shipped
-----------
May 2nd, 2007
Received sunroof via UPS.
Ordered brand new JDM front end with carbon fiber hood through password.com It will be about 4 weeks due to the fenders being out of stock.
-----------
June 7th, 2007
Received brand new front end from Honda of Japan. Stripped my car of the beat up front end.
Did NOT receive EF7 t-bar. So I called up Password: JDM and they said they'd ship me a used one free of charge.
-----------
June 10th, 2007
Fitted front end minus the fenders which I still have yet to get. Bought Honda Access wheel for EF8 on Honda-Tech.com
-----------
June 14th, 2007
Received Honda Access wheel NIB! Painted resistor box flat black. Painted backyard special strut bar flat black. Removed "PROGRESS" decal from spark plug cover. Removed intake manifold to clean.
-----------
June 16th, 2007
Purchased 15" Mugen MR-5's in black with final edition bolts.
-----------
June 20th, 2007
Still never received EF7 t-bar so I called "Marco" from Password again and he apparently forgot or never knew about it. Confirmed that it was being shipped today though.
Took intake manifold to get portmatched to my ProFab gasket and Spoon TB.
Wrapped my Vibrant header.
Installed my steering wheel.
-----------
September 20th, 2007
Three months later and we're finally nearing completion! I'll just post some pics for you.

congrats? Sounds weird saying that after an accident but it does kinda rule, especially after the hit and run damage.
While it's in the shop and the paint is mixed up, talk to them about fixing the rust. Shouldn't be much more money. Also, start looking for a front end right now because they aren't easy to find.

Yeah, I checked it out and it looks like a decent deal to me. I just want to make sure it comes with everything I need to do it all smoothly. What I'm going to do is have a body shop cut the rust off my rear quarter too and just repaint the whole car. I still need a sunroof too! I was thinking of getting that carbon fiber one (not the plug). And paint the carbon fiber hood? BTW Tahitian Green Pearl FTW!

I called HMotors and it'll take about 2 weeks for Steve to get one in. But when he does it's going to me; $1000 to my door. I figured that was a much better deal than Passwordjdm's. The wait will kill me though...

Steve is a great guy and that's where I bought mine (along with my ITR engine and a bunch of other stuff) .......BUT........ be prepared to spend some cash getting it fixed. Mine was "the best one he had" at the time and it STILL needed about $700- to repair. The bumper had three coats of different paint on it and a huge chunk missing that had to be filled. The hood was basically unusable and I threw it out and the one fender was good, the other was creased.
If I had the choice now I would definitely get the Password stuff.

be carefull with passwordjdm...they too carry damaged front ends.
when i was in store for a front end which was about 6 months ago Leo actually let me into his facility and walk around to take a look at the jdm stuff he had.
he has so much stuff that he doesnt have time to care for the conidtion of the front ends. Almost all the hoods had bent corners and dings..same with the fenders. He has a big bin of headlights and half of them are yellow and foggy. And i asked him if all of them are like this and his response was that what do you expect theyre 15 year old cars plus i have to get them shipped here almost all of them will have some sort of damage. And for a used front end his price is kind of pricey $1000 picked up but he did tell me i could pick and choose which parts i wanted. Although if they have and sort of accessory such as foglights or parking pole he takes them off or charges you extra. A lot of people here in so cal claim password is way over priced and sell damaged stuff for full price
But he does sell brand new parts! buying the bumper brand new is the best way to go

Does anyone have any tips in removing the front fenders? Those bolts behind the door are instilling frustration upon me...

Im in for pictures of the panel when you get it. I couldnt find these for the life of me about a year ago, and i think i spent 180 or so on an oem panel. I might get a cf one anyways and sell mine.

1/4 inch socket (shallow) with an extension. Open the door all the way; you can barely get to it from between the fender and the ouside of the door, try very hard not to rub the extension on the door. It helps to have an extension that wobbles a little (MAC sells some that do this on purpose). You could also do it the very slow way, a 10mm wrench.

Got it today, very well packaged...
It looks awesome and well built, hopefully it will fit flawlessly. Should I paint it TGP? Or leave it carbon fiber? Same question for the hood too...
